[history]
February 24, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has dispatched the elite commando force that hunted down Saddam Hussein to Afghanistan for a new operation aimed at getting Osama bin Laden, officials said yesterday. Military sources confirmed that members of the shadowy Task Force 121, the unit that conducted the high-tech search for Saddam and his henchmen, have recently begun operating in the remote mountainous region along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border where bin Laden and key al Qaeda and Taliban fugitives are believed to be hiding. The Task Force is made up of highly trained Delta and SEAL commandos, as well as CIA paramilitary operators. It operates outside normal military channels.

Christian related means nothing. It is a spin off group that leaves interpretations to be defined by the self appointed leader of the spin off.

they could nuke Tel-Aviv, and if we are talking about a small suitcase device, the issue about widespread fallout and water damage would be mitigated.
who would Israel retaliate against that the US would not? They have the same issues we do regarding retaliation, the logical targets are Iran and Pakistan, who would Israel hit? In fact, Israel would likely be more restricted in their response then we would be. The US isn't going to let them hit the Saudis for example, no way.

"He went on further to say that these are just some of the OPENING moves.....prior to the detonation of the nukes."
"I wish I did not believe him, but I do. It's overwhelming to consider. (No wonder Norad on alert, all the warnings and plans for 'survivors"...no wonder the general population has not been fully informed.)"
Covert Red alert.

if anything, NYC has ratcheted down even from the orange. checkpoints involving searches of trucks at bridges and tunnels I frequent are not there in recent weeks.

Didn't they just catch a money laundering charity in CA? Had to do with some California relief agency and Saudi.

I would not bet any money on the ability of the US to restrain Israel in the event of a nuclear attack on an Israeli city. That's just my opinion, of course, and I may be wrong. But I think they'd pretty darned well nuke anyone they thought was responsible.

"This all in addition to reports of foreign submarines ooperating in the Gulf and off the US Atlantic coast."
This jumps out at me...that tanker might have been a smoke screen to get a sub into the Chesapeake...Washington DC, Annapolis, Baltimore... very target rich.

Don't know. We'll have to keep checking for updates. No updates as of yet.

Quiet a recap, eh? Thanks for the list.

That really doesn't make sense because of the geography. Israel is a very narrow country. Directly to the east of the Israeli cities, you'll find large populations of Arabs. Not only would the land be uninhabitable (and land is scarce there), the water supplies would be contaminated, and water is a very scarce resource in the middle east. Then again the Arab populations would be right in the fallout patterns. It wouldn't even make sense. Besides, Jerusalem is the third holiest site in Islam. They aren't going to nuke Jerusalem. *sigh* You are thinking like an American...

LOL!

I AM an American :) But I have spent enough time in the middle east where I feel I have a clue about what I am speaking of. The only way they would nuke Jerusalem is if they can figure a way to blame it on us. While they might be successful in convincing the world we might go after Mecca or Medina, I don't think there are too many people who would believe that we would nuke the Israelis.
While I agree that the Islamic terrorists have no compuction about killing other Muslims or Arabs, the bottom line is the land that they crave would become unusable for many generations.
They are fanatics, not idiots.

But I have spent enough time in the middle east where I feel I have a clue about what I am speaking of.Then you know the story of the frog and the scorpion...
To: null and void
Yes I do :) But the story has the scorpion stinging the frog and drowning, not stinging itself :)

A nuance that may get lost in the shuffle.

Especially if "we" can blame the Joooooooos.
The eeeeeeevil Joooooos did it to clear the Temple Mount so's they could replace the über-sacred Al Aqsa møsque...
