[history]
February 24, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has dispatched the elite commando force that hunted down Saddam Hussein to Afghanistan for a new operation aimed at getting Osama bin Laden, officials said yesterday. Military sources confirmed that members of the shadowy Task Force 121, the unit that conducted the high-tech search for Saddam and his henchmen, have recently begun operating in the remote mountainous region along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border where bin Laden and key al Qaeda and Taliban fugitives are believed to be hiding. The Task Force is made up of highly trained Delta and SEAL commandos, as well as CIA paramilitary operators. It operates outside normal military channels.

Hmmm. The plot thickens. Do you recall that letter from some Muslim group that was sent to Castro? I keep thinking about how AQ asserts that their attacks will be completely unexpected, and come from places that we would never suspect.

Dayton Man Assaulted After Witnessing Accident
POSTED: 9:01 am EST February 27, 2004
UPDATED: 12:18 pm EST February 27, 2004
DAYTON, Ohio -- A Dayton man was assaulted Friday morning after he tried to stop two men from leaving the scene of an accident.
The fight happened at the corner of East Third Street and Linden Avenue after the men crashed an SUV into a utility pole.
The man who witnessed the accident saw the men in the SUV act suspicious. He approached the men and told them not to leave the scene of an accident.
Officers said one of the men bit the witness' finger and then fled the scene.
Investigators said after they searched the SUV, they found some ***high-powered military weapons***. If the two men are caught, they could face weapon charges among other charges related to the accident and assault.

I wonder if someone could enlarge that picture. AQ tends to be very specific with its graphics. I wonder if it would be possible to figure out what was the cause of death.I know that sounds utterly disgusting, but it could provide a hint.
I couldn't get that "frogman" image out of my mind--and now look at the suspicious diver incidents.
Also, the picture of New York being nuked....I'm trying to figure out what the vantage point is...which River.

Not to add fuel to the fire, but as nw-arizona-granny was posting this, I took a look at the Final Phase forum and the fear factor went up after I read a post over there about tactics. Does anyone here also post there? If so, you definitely know what I mean. Not knowing if anyone here reads final phase, I'll go copy the troubling information and bring it back.

Saddam Catchers Hunt Bin Laden
The Herald ^ | February 25, 2004 | Staff
Posted on 02/26/2004 2:48:02 AM CST by Anti-Bubba182
The top secret international commando group which tracked down Saddam Hussein is being transferred from Iraq to Afghanistan to spearhead the hunt for Osama bin Laden.
Task Force 121, a 1400-strong unit drawn from the U.S. army's Delta Force, Rangers and Green Berets, U.S. navy Seals, and attached elements of British and Australian SAS and Canadian special forces, will be used as the cutting edge of an offensive aimed at netting or killing top al Qaeda fugitives.
The unit, which may be renamed before deploying on the Afghan side of the frontier with Pakistan's lawless tribal lands, is moving in because of improving intelligence on the movements of the terror network's high command.
