Wait a minute, unless he was doing some dangerous driving, what business is this of the cop? Its not like he put a TV on top of the car and driving around in public.

"Gainey was arrested under state penal law, section 245.11. It prohibits public displays of offensive material when visible by others. That includes from inside a car."

Next step is to have government agents peering into our windows to ensure we are only viewing government approved material. I live in a typical neighborhood with a lot of children. They walk by my house a lot. Better make sure I don't view anything offensive!

They coulda arrested me on super bowl sunday!

In Texas, legislation was just passed making it illegal to have a tv screen visible to the driver. Backseat screens are still legal as far as I know.

You should have read the article.

"Gainey was arrested under state penal law, section 245.11. It prohibits public displays of offensive material when visible by others. That includes from inside a car."

"This was definitely a case where it was out for the general public to see if they were walking or riding behind the vehicle," Frisoni said."

"Gainey was also charged on several other counts, including watching a movie while driving. and driving with a suspended license. Both are misdemeanors."

"When police were booking him, Gainey signed a different name to a fingerprint card. That resulted in a felony charge."

Definitely not his day.

(Not bad for someone with no kids, eh?)

It's a good thing he wasn't on the highway. He might have gotten off at the wrong exit.
