News Advisory:

-- Citizens Need to Flood Gov. Schwarzenegger's, Mayor Newsom's Offices with Calls, Faxes, Emails and Protest Illegal Marriages Taking Place in San Francisco

Christian Coalition of America strongly opposes the illegal marriages that are taking place in San Francisco. Mayor Gavin Newsom is allowing marriages between homosexual couples that are illegal in the state of California. On March 7 2000, the voters of California passed Proposition No. 22 overwhelmingly (61 percent to 39 percent) which stated that marriage was between a man and a woman. Also, Governor Schwarzenegger was voted in as Governor of the state of California last year on a platform that was against homosexual marriage.

President Roberta Combs says, "We would like to encourage Governor Schwarzenegger to take a stand and to stop these illegal marriages and to uphold the law of California."

ACTION ITEMS:

Calls/faxes/emails need to be sent to the Governor's office and to the Mayor's office of San Francisco. Please find listed below all of the numbers. Whenever you call, tell them that you are for marriage between a man and a woman and to uphold Proposition No. 22.

PRAY for Governor Schwarzenegger and Mayor Newsom that they will have the courage to stop these illegal marriages and to uphold the law.

Office of Governor Schwarzenegger: 916-445-2841, Fax Number: 916-445-4633, E-mail: governor@governor.ca.gov

Office of Gavin Newsom: 415-554-6141, Fax Number: 415-554- 6160, E-mail: gavin.newsom@sfgov.org

Christian Coalition plans to hold "Let's Take America Back" rallies in all 50 states including California this year.

Christian Coalition's "Let's Take America Back" petition. You can download a petition at our website http://www.cc.org and then get 10 signatures from your friends and neighbors and your house of worship.

Please keep the above issue and our petition in your prayers. Through prayer great and mighty things can be accomplished.

I am so glad the Christian Coalition is acting on this.
There are several good groups like Family Values, (I included a link in another thread) that are contacting President Bush to act on this as well.

On Oreilly someone said that this is a push for gay rights.
This has to stop and yes we will pray about it but we have to take action as well.

I already emailed the Gov yesterday but I will get some friends to email today. Thanks for postinf this and keeping us up on things that we can do.

Republicans are blessed because we care about values!!

With all due respect, does the Christian Coalition understand the difference between the Sacrament of Marriage between a man and woman joined before God in the presence of a congregation and a four way contract between two individuals, the church and the government-with the government in the role of the 800 pound gorilla?

Due they further understand their support for the 800 pound gorilla of government over the past century has led to this sad state of affairs and will ultimately lead to their demise?

Please forgive me, but I am very mystified by this entire situation.

Best regards,

I am glad to see the Christian Coalition step up to this crazy issue....just when you think liberals hit rock bottom with lack of values, you see something like this nutcase mayor is trying to do.

May God Bless them for taking action to preserve marriage in California.

Homosexual marriage will become a major issue in the fall elections.....

California's Attorney General, a democrat, needs some prodding to initiate charges against SF's Mayor.

I think that a call to your county supervisor and your county district attorney can help in this way.

Normally if something is to be investigated or act upon by the state Attorney generals office, the request generally has to be made by some official, rather than a citizen. So your local district attorney or county supervisor might help out if prodded. If the district attorney sees minor officials getting anxious over this it might be an impetus.

Homosexual marriage will become a major issue in the fall elections.....

Agreed. Homosexuals want the "legitimacy" of marriage because it is the key to the city of Government "Entitlements";Insurance and Employment "benefits" etc. etc.

If the Christian Coalition desire to "step up to the plate" on this issue they need to unravel it back to basics and find out why Government is in the Benefits and Entitlements business aka "Robbing Peter to Pay Paul" and challenge those constructions whether they are called "Public Education";"Americans With Disabilities Act"; "Health and Human Services" etc. etc.

I would continue but I seem to have exhausted my supply of quotation marks.

Best regards,

Since the clerk's office was kept open over the weekend, any city employee who worked during this illegal activity should have their weekend pay revoked. And the clerk's office should be forced to reimburse the city (taxpayers), out of their budget, for the other costs of keeping the office open - e.g. cost of electricity, security, etc.
