FoxNews? "Fair and Balanced" Not on the weekends!

Posted on 02/15/2004 12:19:31 PM PST by ConservativeMan55

The coverage this weekend of the President's Nascar trip has been the worst coverage I've seen on Fox in a long long time. Greg Jarrett keeps asking each correspondent if they "know anything" about Nascar.

James Rosen responded by comparing Nascar to Water Polo. Jarrett then turned to Catherine Herridge and asked her if she knew anything about Nascar. "Its not my speciality." She snidely remarked back to him.

"Well the President isn't there to watch a bunch of cars run around in a circle." Jarrett remarked. "He's obviously trying to get the Nascar Dads vote."

Jarrett continually made references to the possibility that the President is scared that John Kerry was going to take the Nascar Dads vote away from him.

I don't know who in the hell runs Foxnews on the weekend, but it sure as hell ain't the same people that run it during the week. The only bright spot is Brian Wilson on Sunday afternoons. I am glad they put him in there instead of Chris Wallace.

Julian Phillips should be fired. I finally just quit sending e-mails, and quit watching altogether. Its almost a completely different network on the weekends.

Somebody got smart and removed Pat Sajaks show. Ollie's war stories show has been moved exclusively to Sunday nights in order to make way for Rita's trash.

Geraldo is watchable..especially since he's in Iraq and he showcases US Troops.

Anybody else notice the awful crap they've been putting on the weekends. Aside from Brian Wilson and John Kasich. They are the only bright spots.

Is there any doubt, after watching the coverage of the last ten days of the President's 'alleged AWOL' status versus the love-fest for JFK, that the state of the mainstream media is dismal. Is this what J-schools are tunring out? Their reluctance to enage on the Kerry story is what is really illuminating.

At least for one hour...although not on the weekends...I have the perfect antidote....DENNIS MILLER!!!

His questions are crafted...nearly sculpted...to get the conservative, pro Bush point across--most times without the knowledge of those answering the questions. He's THAT good! He doesn't raise his voice. His calm, nearly stealthy demeanor, followed by poignant spontaneity, is sheer brilliance. His panel discussion guests, and the material covered, are riveting.

--Not to mention, he can actually formulate a question to pose to his guests, rather than a 20 minute statement where the guest has no idea when to chime in with their verbal contribution--like OTHER shows on air at the same time.

Okay, the monkey thing (he occasionally has a chimp visiting him) is a bit bizzare, but despite his humorous antics, he is a not-so-obvious bright light for either newly conservative, or tired of hearing the same 'ol, same 'ol conservatives, AND IMHO could actually be one to sway the views of some Dems. = PRICELESS

This is the best source I can find. Maybe someone with a better memory and/or search skills can find another article. I THOUGHT I remembered Murdock testifying in front of a U.S. Congressional committee.

Fox sprang on the scene with a conservative bent and shot up the charts to become the most watched cable news show. Then they caught the disease.

The thing about trying to be all things to all people, "fair n balanced", Fox risks being of little or no consequence to anyone. Liberal views are all that's available on all other news networks. For Fox to pander to them means their conservative principles are suspect as liberal views are always, always, mentally diseased. It sickens conservatives to hear their deviant pap and twisted logic.

Perhaps they could never get an interview with liberals unless they slant the news, but then, who cares to see a liberal interviewed? I stopped watching months ago.

"The NASCAR audience was also characterized as white, male, and Republican "

If this is true, why do they only make left turns? (sarc/)

FOX news sure helped GWB get elected, maybe just maybe they are saving the best for october , AMERICANS do have a short memory it seems nobody even remembers nine eleven, and the weekend show stinks to high heaven, I feel very uncomfortable with their little sexual innuendos, and way to much small talk ,they started off right and now they stink.

Dawgreg, I hate to disagree, but Im not sure a primary voting democrat would vote any other way than democrat in general elections, unless of course she were a far right republican who voted for the easiest candidate for the republican to beat.

I think Jarrett simply has that lawyer, condescending, "above it all" disbelief toward everybody.

I've noticed this too lately.

Is the owner of FOXNEWS drifting to the left???
I DON'T WANT "FAIR and BALANCED". I want a concervative news station to counter CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN. etc. THAT'S Fair and Balanced.

By the way, that pansy that replaced Tony Snow is another irritating creep. He sounds like a leftist.

I find O'Reily is now a waste of time. Anything he has to say can be said or is said by any other number of sources with the same level of ability. Additionally he is just absurd with his creeping liberalism.

FNC has totally missed the boat on the Federal Marriage Amendment. They ahve basically photocopied the talking points of the homosexuals.

It may still be more conservative than the other news outlets BUT as a hardcore political junkie, I can truthfully say that FOX is not my source of information leading up to the election.

I am finding FR a far more valuble source and I now have the radio going when work allows.

Rush said it best years ago. What you don't see on abc will be on cbs will be on nbc will be on cnn will be on pmsnbc and it seems it will also be on FNC.

same as.

Where is the attacking? What about the mayor of SF? Napolitano has proven himself a ABA party line buffoon on the issue of homosexual marriage, replace him. Where is FNC filing for release of Kerry's own military records? Where is the stories about the skewing of poll numbers to oversample democrats? How about the scandals in our university system? How about the lock the ABA has on model laws used by legislators?

WHO IS RUNNING the weekend shop? or the weekday shop?

The NASCAR dad thing bugged me too. Nobody could pop onto the NASCAR website and see a few things? Nobody commont on the NASCAR dad as an indication that the new gender gap is the fact that men are fleeing the democrat party in greater numbers than women feeling the democrat party?

Screw this "fair and balance" new attitude. The only thing they have done is go slowly to "pander and pacify" mode.

Given the rocketing success from before, it seems collosaly stupid to mess with success.

My advice to FNC: You go home with the one that brung ya. Look at "The Passion", that 125 milion is not going based on a leftist perspective.

just an edit on the last sentence.

People did not spend $125 million to see "the Passion" based on a leftist perspective.

makes better sense.

I really like John Gibson also. I do watch mostly Foxnews but I do like Scarborough on MSNBC. One think I like on Fox is that you don't get only reruns on the weekend, like MSNBC. I don't watch CNN much so I don't really know how many live show they have.
