[history]
When you are a conservative and tend to support conservatives, it will come as a surprise, and an unwelcome one, when you ding one, as I dinged President Bush the other day about his "Meet the Press" performance. Of those who responded, about 60% disagreed with me, and the rest were more or less in agreement. Many of those who disagreed with me said they thought the president had done well with Tim Russert, that the interview made clear his decency and sincerity. Others said I was kicking the president when he's down and that's the problem with conservative pundits, they can't be trusted. My answer is the obvious one: It is the job of a writer to write the truth as he sees it, and if it's an uncomfortable truth, then so be it.

But honestly, the US isn't going to become a third world hellhole in your lifetime or the lifetime of your children.
Look around this country, 8 to 12 millions illegals immigrants here with more coming every single day, with BOTH parties pandering to them and IGNORING law-abiding taxpayers. Also, government spending AND regulation is at an ALL TIME high. And with CFR this next election may well be a farce.
We may not be a third world hell-hole yet, but we are MUCH closer than you think.
Your biggest worry is whether your city gets nuked or not.
I know this sounds cold, but I live in the rural south, and if God forbid D.C. or NYC were nuked by terrorist, it might be a GOOD thing for the rest of this country's future.

Miss Marple,
Kudos on your paragraph.
I, personally, am not 'afraid' about the upcoming election. I truly believe that America will make the right choice. Remember, it's 9 months! I've seen my wife go through two successful pregnancies. 9 months is a long, long time (even longer, I imagine, for mommy, eh?). Anyway, there is a LOT of time for the candidate's positions to be discussed.
Sure, the dems will distort and pander, but with Bush, we can point to some very successful policy victories, resolve in foreign policy matters, and an underlying strength of character.
Contrast this to the democrats on the stump. All I hear is rhetoric, and tearing down of our great President.
So, as I said, I'm not afraid. If there is a certain restlessness among conservatives/Republicans, let me ask, is that not a good thing if it results in an overly motivated base come election time?
I was thinking today about how I will do everything in my power to get people out to vote for this fine man. I'm not for telling others what to do, but, if you feel like I do, I urge you to get as many people as you can out to vote for President Bush in November.
To: Paul C. Jesup
And if Bush is elected and we slide into a third world hell hole That is hilarious. I can think of so many ways to twist that statement... Do you honestly feel more burdened every day as if the load on your back gathers weight? Bush has lightened the load for everyone in this country and has made the nation safer; finally after 8 years of uncertainty I know exactly what to expect from my leader and know that he will pin down any threats to this nation... Oh, I know, your fear of illegal aliens stealing your mail box chills you to the bone, but that's just Michael Savage and Pat Bucanhan trying to push inventory; try watching more commercials about prescription medicine... they're not a scary.

If you look at history, the stupidity factor for most D.C. politicans is great than for the leaders of Rome during it's decline. Now that is saying something. D.C. politicans from both parties are pandering to criminals (illegals) and screwing those who actually obey the law.
This is insanity are it's worst.

Lighthearted is important. That is why I write my silly little poems. If you become the teeth gnashing flaming right wing extremist, you will not sway the middle to your side. The 15 to 20% in the middle is very important to winning. I use calm and rational means on these people and I do make progress. In Alabama it is almost a waste of time because we tend to vote Republican in Presidential races, but I will not assume that will always be the case. So when I talk to locals I'm just paying insurance premiums.

We may not be a third world hell-hole yet, but we are MUCH closer than you think. OK. I know this is how you see it. But I have been to third world hellholes and America is not even remotely close to being one. Hint- we're the most advanced nation on Earth. Third world is worse than your worst nightmares.
At any rate, you can get worked up over this problem and this is fair enough. On a scale of one to ten, it might rate a five or six. Hey, let's be generous and give it a 9.
So, your issue is a 9.
My issue, on a scale of one to ten rates about 350 (that's three hundred fifty). Your issue pales in comparison to mine.
I care about your issue. I really do. Don't get me wrong on that. But next to nuclear annihilation, frankly, it doesn't seem that important to me.
If you think Kerry is the guy that's better suited to dealing with America's problem of getting nuked by al Qaeda- you vote for him. That's fair.
Personally, I don't think he's up to the job. Not that I necessarily think Dubya is either but between the two- Dubya looks about ten times as good.

What it means is, bottom line, is that if 12 million, for a start, illegals get voting rights, the nation is forever locked down for rampant socialism. Game over for any chance of conservative governance. If the FTAA treaty, which Bush is salivating for, is passed, game over for the Constitution, hello international law as the law of the land.
Given these are the facts, what difference does this election really make as far as conservatives are concerned? There are two ways to go. Elect Bush and get a knife in the back, sit home and let a demonrat stab you in the chest. Not happy choices. The only chance, slim as it is, is to jar the Republican Party out of their leftist stupor by slapping the possibility of their parties extinction up side their head.
What does a conservative care if there are two liberal parties to choose from? Neither is worthy of any effort other than to destroy them. If there is to be no future conservative representation in this nation, conservatives owe it to themselves to engage in political blood letting. I have seen no real workable plan to turn things around, there is only incrimentally devolving into conservative extinction.

you, bub, are messing with the wrong lady - and you should be willing to accept her agressiveness. Clearly you are one of those ticked about the immigration thing.
Buchannites are failing to recall that Bush was govenor of TEXAS. He 'gets' what the big picture is about Mexico. His proposal isn't perfect - but politically it's very smart. You may not agree, but we, necessarily, must promote the desire to vote republican among hispanics. This is a demographic reality we can't ignore. You sound like you don't care about that reality.
The conservatives who are angry at Bush over this one issue I'm guessing are the same ones who never actually speak to these 'guest workers', who never actually proactively try to americanize them by first just being nice to them, and second, being nice to their kids at school functions.
I'm not going to debate the immigration thing w/ freepers. But I am going to proactively americanize the 'guests', and put my beliefs about this country to work.
They are coming and staying REGARDLESS of what Bush proposes and implements. We need to stop dumping on Bush, stop dumping on them, and start acting like americans instead of sounding and behaving like the xenophobic japanese.

My poems are a little too rhymey for the artsy crowd. But they get my thoughts expressed quite nicely.I'm not crazy about the 'artsy crowd'. Rhyme away, and go get those fancy boots.

What you say does not speak well for Rats. If all we cared about was "my job" that = its all about me. Unemployment is not that high.

Hint- we're the most advanced nation on Earth.
Actually Japan, South Korea and Tiawan are on the technological edge in the world, we lag way behind in 4th place.

If you are talking about a city being nuked, no it is not that high.
Look at it logically, if a nuke blows (by forgien terrorists) in a city full of socialist control-freaks who support the destruction of the rest of this country, including US. Then in a sick way, wouldn't that be a postitive event for the rest of us.

You say you served in Viet Nam,
My question is which side?
You pulled ahead in Iowa,
Hope you enjoy the ride.
Dean is toast and some dropped out,
But you dont have a chance.
Even if you get to run,
We will not let you dance.
The democrats might pick you,
To lead their commie band.
But we will fight to keep you out,
You must not lead this land.

You know what? I need to take your particular post to heart. Too often, I get so infuriated at folks who embrace leftist thinking ... and I let it show. That does nothing to help the cause of converting them. (Ok, I'm going to the balloon store and buy some helium!!!! :))

Lets spend some more money fighting the terrorists in the homeland. They dont exist.I would suggest that maybe you should think twice before posting this kind of crap. It only shows that you have not done your research.
