Buchannites are failing to recall that Bush was govenor of TEXAS. He 'gets' what the big picture is about Mexico. His proposal isn't perfect - but politically it's very smart. You may not agree, but we, necessarily, must promote the desire to vote republican among hispanics. This is a demographic reality we can't ignore. You sound like you don't care about that reality.

The conservatives who are angry at Bush over this one issue I'm guessing are the same ones who never actually speak to these 'guest workers', who never actually proactively try to americanize them by first just being nice to them, and second, being nice to their kids at school functions.

I'm not going to debate the immigration thing w/ freepers. But I am going to proactively americanize the 'guests', and put my beliefs about this country to work.
