U.S. soccer team to play for Olympic spot in Guadalajara
Things could get ugly in Guadalajara tomorrow when the U.S. soccer team plays Mexico for Olympic qualification.
Last Thursday, when the U.S. played Canada in a qualifying round in Zapopan before 1,500 Mexicans, the crowd hooted "The Star-Spangled Banner," it booed U.S. goals. And it chanted "Osama! Osama! Osama" as the American players left the field with a 2-0 victory.
Tomorrow, 60,000 fans are expected to watch the game that will determine which team goes to Athens.
The Mexicans are hoping for revenge. The U.S. team knocked Mexico out of the World Cup in 2002.
The Guadalajara police are already mobilizing to control highly charged soccer fans and to protect U.S. team players in case things get out of hand.

Seriously, that is an ugly way to go. Just one of the fringe benefits of our border policy. This one is an equal opportunity danger.
If Yogi or Snagglepuss develop a palate for man-flesh, the most likely first victims will be illegals -- probably women or children. This also makes things a lot more dangerous for legitimate hikers and campers here; the critters are not going to ask about nationality first.
It also adds a significant hazard for us hooligans who stalk aliens.

"You guys do know 'our' side lost to the Mexican Army at the Alamo...right?"
Well then, what about "Back to Chapultepec! Yeehaaa!!!" I think Mexico ran out of toilet paper the last time they heard the Marines were coming, and it's getting to be time give 'em something else to think about.

There is a freeper who is from Australia (Byron is his name I think) who posted on another thread weeks ago said that the hard-line policies of Prime Minister Howard has stemmed the flow of illegals in his country. Even the Labor Party of Australia supported Howards actions.
I wish the same policies Australia implemented would be tried here.

Remember the Maine and Remember 9.11 aren't about "victories". Neither was "Remember Pearl Harbor".
It's a rallying cry. We won the Battle of San Jacinto.

Tell ya what_Dawg, since you have such an unabashed love for border hopping criminals from your own back yard, you know, the ones that are forcing hospitals to cut back on services to LEGAL residents all over the southwest, who are draining resources from schools to law enforcement in almost every state, just to accommodate their president/travel agent named Fox? Well, now they are in my neighborhood. I do not love them, and they sure as hell didn't swim up the Chesapeake Bay to get here. So do me a favor-come and round em' up for me.Take them back where you can give them the life they deserve. Before you reply, please make sure to look up the word ILLEGAL, because that will be my next argument.

The U.S National Junior Hockey team was down 3-1 to the Canadian Juniors in Helsinki last Xmas and was being badly outplayed. They came out in the third period and scored 4 straight goals eking out a stunning victory to claim the gold medal.I suspect Mexico is in big trouble, the 1980 Miracle On Ice was no fluke.

It was in November when Mexico defeated the US to advance in Olympic Baseball Qualifying, which means Cuba is the sure-fire gold medalist as the Americans aren't even in the event.

Surely it doesn't concern securing a country's southern border...a pratice that Mexico ENFORCES with such zeal? Nahhh....couldn't be that. Wonder what it is?

Call me crazy, but there is something about going out of your way to cross national borders to be a sucky human being that makes it that much less palatable.I live in Los Angeles, and I am continually astounded at the utter arrogance and rudeness of so many immigrants. They are rude, they push and shove, they cut in lines, they sneer and condescend.
I cannot imagine choosing to enter another country, legally or illegally, of my own free will, nobody holding a gun to my head...and then, instead of finding out what the preferences of my new neighbors are in order to avoid offending them, being unspeakably horrid and rude to them! What kind of mind set would justify such behavior? We're nice enough (or stupid enough) to let them in, and they show us nothing but contempt. Obviously far too many of today's immigrants hate America and its citizens, and are just using us for jobs or welfare. Why do we need these people, legal or illegal? Why are we letting them all in? Why are we doing this to ourselves?

Aww, it's only fair isn't after all, we chanted "Remember the Alamo". Evidently they have forgotten and need to be reminded.
To: TheSpottedOwl
we can chant deport , deport, deport! or just yell INS and watch the scramble.

Why are we letting them all in? Why are we doing this to ourselves? To save 25 cents on strawberries.
