I thought because there is a poll on FR that says "If it's Kerry vs Bush how will you vote?" it would be good to start a thread on the matter for people to explain how they voted in the poll, if they choose to do so.
TOPICS: News/Current Events; Your Opinion/Questions
KEYWORDS: 2004; bush; elections; gwb2004; kerry; traitorsinourmidst

It's part and parcel with supporting fringe candidates, which Jim has proscribed. :-)

Oh, I understand it very well.
BTW, proportional representation is the method of voting in Ireland, quite similar to that engaged in Australia, although they use a 'list' system.
I'm very well aware of the electoral system in the US.
I do, however, think that your condecension does your argument very few favours.

"Where is the "protest vote" from the left? Nowhere to be found, obviously. What does that tell you?Ask Al Gore about the effects of a protest vote, one that has no cjance of electing a winner...can you say RALPH NADAR?
No Nadar vote, we have President Gore.

She's IRISH! She doesn't know that here, fringe parties, unlike where a parliamentary system exists, aren't valid. True, parties other then the two main ones never make it the oval office, but in what sense do you call them invalid?

So you can't find a post where I indicated being opposed to the re-election of President Bush then?
Didn't think so.
It would be hard to find one, seeing as I'm not opposed to his re-election.

President Bush served his country, period. The fact that he did not serve in Viet Nam does not make one bit of difference.
You are so right- my father and one of his brothers never went to Korea but they are just as much Korean War veterans as the other brother who did serve there. All three got honorable discharges and now rest in veteran's graves.
May they and all others who fought for our nation rest in peace and may the Dummycrats shut the hell up about Bush's military record.
BTW, I'll vote for Bush any day and Kerry no way.

I have declared a personal vendetta against Kolbe. That doofus managed to close the Border Patrol's highway checkpoints here, making it oh so convenient for the coyotes moving their human freight -- and helping to make this the destination of choice for umpteen thousand illegals.
He also helped author the McCain/Kolbe/Flake bill that Dubya used as the basis for his misbegotten guest worker proposal. Around here we call it the Granola Bill, since it was authored by a nut, a fruit, and a flake.

For someone who doesn't care, you've dedicated plenty of energy into responding to me tonight.
I may just write a column about you.

You know ,seriously, you brag about your wealth, your intellect and claim you have principles. You have none of these things. You are a garden variety twerp, in actuality. You can feel free to drink yourself more stupid than you are already, then have your pissing contest all over yourself.
You keep trying to one up me, the certain sign of a deeply challenged loser. Why don't you just declare victory and drown in your own bile.

I would still like to know what I am getting for my money
Am I just supposed to take your word for it.
I will decide if it's a bargain or not, but since I have no choice in the matter it really doesn't matter. I should just bend over and take it.

I always feel like I need a shower after lurking there, so I wait until I'm ready for a shower before I Lurk there, instead of feeling like I slipped and fell in horse hockey and have the shower forced upon me :-)

It's absolutely NONE of your business anyway.Actually, it is. What happens here in the U.S. affects the entire world. So it is most definitely her business.

I have to say that taking a poll like this on FR is like O'Reilly taking (and reporting) a poll on his website...completely meaningless!

We weren't even talking about whether you are for or against President Bush, which is another irrelevancy, since you are unable to vote for or against him. We were discussing the " validity " of throwing away one's vote, which you deem to be valid. And that was part of Jim's directive, of which,I gave a brief summary of the intro.
Now tell me, why is it valid, for someone to vote for a fringe candidates, who has no chance of winning the election, but should enough people do so, could help to elect Kerry, or whoever is the Dem candidate. Why is that NOT a wasted vote? How, in the scheme of things, as you see it,does this not constitute a wasted vote and HOW is it " valid ", in any way ? Go ahead, explain that.

There's some good folks over there. You just have to put on your waders to find 'em sometimes. ;-)
