But where Ronald Reagan and Bush the elder were at least grudgingly respected, Dubya is decidedly not.And what has been the dominant political trend since then in the Great White North? Steadily Leftward. Write 'em off...

does canada have any relevance?
http://www.unitednorthamerica.org They have not sustainable military presence.
Their borders are more porous than ours.
They major industries are a subsidiary of USA, Inc.
They governance is based from the stronghold of weakness.
(even the much vaunted 1979 help to the escape of US citizens in Iran was a sham. History channel did a story on what really happened and why canadians were really given the credit.)

My wife deals with Canadians every day at work. According to her description, they are like Euroweenies - smugly superior about being more secular and "progressive" than we religious troglodytes. Too bad the invasion during the War of 1812 failed; there is some nice real estate up there that could probably have been de-Frogged by now.

"Yes, we're cavilling, but clearly there is something about George W. Bush that gets under the skin of Canadians."
Indeed. He is principled, and they are not.
By the way, who cares how Canadians would vote in one of OUR elections? Not me.

The Canadians I know like W. I guess that is anecdotal, since I don't know the sample population of Canadians that were polled. Never the less, to all the Canadians that hate Bush, my forcefully expelled flatulence is aimed in your direction.

As must of you know I am not the strongest supporter of the current occupant of the white house, but I say this about Canada, you lost your manhood at dieppe, and when the southern border is closed the northern border can be closed also.

One of the best things about being American is we're not Canadians. And the day we stop being Americans, we'll see how long you last against the barbarian hoards you moron.

This whole Anti-American/Anti-Canada issue is SO blown out of proportion, not to mention TOTALLY subjective. Before I get into anything here, let me state my position on the issues of the thread:
- I live in Canada (I can't bring myself to state the line that has regrettably become a Molson mantra).
- I can't believe somone would waste their (and the readers') time with such a moronic article. It makes ALL Canadians look bad. Besides, as many have already stated, what Canadians say about electing Bush carries ZERO weight.
- I am not Anti-American and neither are the majority of Canadians.
- Having stated the above, I don't trust Bush. But, that's just my opinion. One does not have to hold the leader of a country in high regard if they respect said country. Damn, if that were the case, then I'd be one anti-Canadian Canadian.
Alright, back to the Anti-Youfilltheblank subject ... this is an issue cultivated by the North American politician and media. You don't like our leader, so Canada sucks ... we
don't like your leader, so America sucks. Tell me that doesn't sound absurd. I mentioned Molson and their moto earlier ... what a sham. They are doing nothing but cater to the lowest common denominator. This is just one example of how the media is playing with the public. There are too many to get into here.
What bothers me is that when something good is reported about the Canada/US relationship, there are few comments. However, something negative gets reported and look out ... 100+ comments suddenly appear. What has Canada done for you lately? What has the US done for us lately? There are so many instances of cooperation, but nobody wants to discuss those. Let's stick to the negatives. Let's keep complaining and poining fingers. Let's keep taking one step forward and two steps back. That's progressive.
Canada has issues, we should be more worried about them then what's going on south of our border. It's too bad the politicians, media and a small percentage of Canadians don't get it.
