Here's the latest semi-inside rumor I have heard today, paraphrased.
This is the current inside information on exactly why Qaddafi suddenly threw open his nuclear vaults for international inspection:
He knows of a plan to detonate a nuke inside of America, and wants badly to be off of our retaliatory strike list. As one of the Islamic nuclear godfathers, he's "heard things." He knows. Maybe not the specifics, but he knows. And when it goes off, he does NOT want to be on George Bush's suspects list. People charged with keeping out and otherwise finding these devices are VERY worried. That's what I heard.

Thanks for the info. If I remember correctly, there were others on the thread who had hypothesized the same thing when it was first announced. It's interesting to see this validated from another source.
P.S. I just got done reading all of the excerpts from Enemies Foreign and Domestic, and I'm impressed. Hopefully I can order the book in the future.

We all know he caved in for reasons other than stated and this is surely plausible. My only question Travis is where did you here this?

I can believe it. I think that Kaddaffi actually provided us with enough info so we could foil the recently planned attacks, but he doesn't know all the details either.
But I agree, he doesn't want to be on the list of countries who will see serious retaliation, if AQ detonates one or more nukes in the US.
