SANAA, Yemen, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A purported statement by al-Qaida in Yemen warned Saturday of a "major strike" soon in the United States.

The statement, distributed by the Yemeni Tagamoo Party for Reforms, said: "A major strike, a big event will take place in America soon," reminiscent of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Thanks - sisters forever now. I have two sisters I don't want and 1 brother ditto. I'll keep one brother though. Anyone hear of a bomb going off in or around Atlanta this week? This new powder story references it.

Post Office Back Open After Suspicious Package Threat
The Putnam County Post Office is back open after a suspicious package was found.
According to Sheriff Howard Sills the substance Is believed to be talcum powder.

This is the second threat in a week for Putnam County, The first being a bomb threat in which a bomb did go off causing minor damage.

Device explodes, rocks GBI robot

The Associated Press - EATONTON, Ga.
A GBI robot was damaged but there were no injuries when a device removed from a Putnam County home exploded, said Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills.

Sills called the Tuesday blast a significant explosion and said officers recovered a piece of shrapnel 83 feet away. The blast left a six-foot hole in the ground and disabled two of the cameras on the Georgia Bureau of Investigation robot.

Oil Spill Into Miss. River After Crash Freighter Hits Oil Tanker, Causing 22,000 Gallons of Oil to Spill Into Mississippi River

NORCO, La. Feb. 20 — A freighter hit an oil tanker moored in the Mississippi River early Friday, causing 22,000 gallons of oil to spill into the water, officials said. No injuries were reported in the accident 30 miles west of New Orleans.

A containment boom was in place within a few hours. A 50-mile stretch of the river was closed to all traffic except ferries.

The cause of the accident involving the 739-foot cargo ship and the 600-foot tanker was under investigation.

I don't remember. 201 sounds familiar like it could have been - there were a couple of flight numbers in the 200's. I can't even remember where and on which thread it was discussed.

Airport Postal Facility Evacuated

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Officials evacuated a postal facility and the immediate area around it at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport today after a mysterious white powder was found inside a letter.

Hazmat crews are going over the scene near the north side of the airport along Permimeter Road.

The search is not affecting any flights at the airport

Mossad- Just starting to check through today's threads. Had a (paranoid) thought of an unexpected mode of attack. Yesderday I heard a brief snippet on the news about a control tower briefly losing power. What if a large number of control towers lost power, simultaneously? AQ likes to use our own stuff against us, and brag that they are living and working among us. Just a thought.
