SANAA, Yemen, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A purported statement by al-Qaida in Yemen warned Saturday of a "major strike" soon in the United States.

The statement, distributed by the Yemeni Tagamoo Party for Reforms, said: "A major strike, a big event will take place in America soon," reminiscent of the Sept. 11 attacks.

If it means TV spots with pictures or 1-800 numbers to call for us to point out people we suspect may be involved in terrorist activities, then it should be implemented. PC behavior (the fear and refusal to profile people) isn't going to save lives, cities or countries. We're in a war with the terrorists and it truly is them or us (especially including our leaders, our military and our law enforcement and civil defense personnel). Acting forcefully now will save the need for reaction later.

In addition, the most likely scenario regarding a device, would be that it is guarded by the team maintaining it. Any attempt at intrusion would probably result in manual detonation. They won't just leave it laying around unguarded..

I posted here after this post, how we mounted a covert op against Paki's nuke arsenal. We deployed in their most sensitive military sites and formulated launch codes to 'prevent' the unauthorized use of nuke missiles.

We sent experts to their nuke sites to roll back the nuke program and declare Pak a rogue state. (deputy Munawar Hassan, leader of the main islamist party Jamaat-I-Islami)
He said Musharraf is playing into the hands of the US. He is not our ruler, he is serving the interests of America.

America's involvement in compiling missile codes raises the possibility it may be able to prevent Pakis from launching its nuke weapons.

Per NBC, a committee of nuke experts have been working to safeguard Pak's arsenal since 911. Last month Bush said Pak's
arsenal was 'secure'.

To ease your mind my hubby and I were just discussing this last night. He said to me "think the nuke plants are not close enough to the population at large to do the damage terrorists want to achieve." He is the voice of reason in our house ;)

I suspect those nukes in Pakistan are a lot more secure than we might think. I would hope that the US has been aware of the vulnerability of the Pakistani nuclear program since 9/11 at the very least, and would have long since moved to secure them.

Musharraff is balancing on a very precarious pearch. He needs US help (but very QUIET help) to maintain that balance. He's going to work with us, although he can't afford to advertise it.

US authorities destroyed a flock of nearly 74,000 chickens after confirming a second case of Avian flu in Delaware state.

While the infection is not the same as the Avian flu that has been blamed for the deaths of 19 people in Asia, US officials still expressed concern after the new outbreak.

We stopped them from exploding. We found the bombs (whetehr actual nukes or dirty) and perhaps the cell that would've detonated them.

And that no way would any authority admit to finding nukes unless there was a Tvcam right there, and even then, the panic factor would necessitate keeping it quiet.
