In a continued showing of financial strength, Herman Cain, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, announced that his campaign began airing a series of television commercials Monday, Feb. 2, 2004. These commercials are the first to air in Georgia for the United States Senate race.

“I am happy to be kicking off the campaign season with these commercials,” stated Cain. “As I travel the state, people overwhelming respond to my common sense conservative message. Now I have the ability to speak directly to all the voters of Georgia.”

In three spots showing across the state, Herman Cain discusses his conservative common sense vision that he will take with him to the United States Senate.

In the spot titled “Hollywood”, Herman Cain defends President Bush and the war on terrorism. The transcript of the ad is as follows:

ANNCR: "Herman Cain Talks Sense."

HERMAN: The Hollywood crowd is attacking our President.

They seem pretty angry that President Bush didn’t ask permission from France to defend our country.

Angry he dug Saddam Hussein out of a hole and put him in jail. Angry he’s fighting the war on terror abroad to keep us safe here at home.

I believe we should support our troops and our President.

It’s conservative common sense.

That’s my message; I'm Herman Cain.

In the spot titled “Start Over”, Herman Cain offers his solution for fixing the tax system. The transcript of the ad is as follows:

ANNCR: "Herman Cain Talks Sense."

HERMAN: The United States Tax Code. It's an 8 million word mess.

But we can fix it in two words: Start over.

Scrap the tax code and shut down the IRS…

Replace it with a new tax system that's fair and simple.

And while we are at it…why not replace the professional politicians who made the mess.

Conservative? You bet. To me it’s common sense.

That’s my message; I'm Herman Cain.

In the spot titled “Pledge”, Herman Cain calls for keeping the words “Under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance. The transcript of the ad is as follows:

ANNCR: "Herman Cain Talks Sense."

HERMAN: If you ask, “Who is Herman Cain?”

I’d say I’m a believer. I believe liberal judges shouldn’t take the words “Under God” out of our Pledge of Allegiance. If they do, I believe we should put ‘em back.

I believe that we need a constitutional amendment to guarantee we remain “One Nation Under God.”

Conservative? You bet. To me it’s common sense.

That’s my message; I'm Herman Cain.

Airing TV ads before Collins and Isakson isn't exactly the sign of strength he's portraying it as. Rather, due to his lower name ID, it's a neccessity.

For anyone who may have seen them, how do they look?

I saw the ad during Fox & Friends on Monday morning. Good ad placement to reach his base. It sort of shocked me because I was on the computer at the time and I was thrown for a loss when I actually heard someone on television defending the President. Got my attention real quick.

I have never seen Cain before. He came across great on the ad. He looks strong and tough and, may I say, quite dapper.

I'm in Isakson's district and have never been too impressed except for the R behind his name. I will be giving Cain a good look.

I am just hoping the conservatives do not split the vote and put Isaskson in office. In my New Hampshire that is how we ended up with Bass and Bradley as congressmen.

Impossible. If noone gets 50%+1, there is a runoff between the top two.

The most convincing experience you will have is actually going to hear Mr. Cain speak. I actually peeled my Johnny bumper sticker off and replaced it with Cain's after a few meet and greets. He is a real conservative to his very core and I think he may go very far. We would be lucky to have him fighting the good fight on our behalf.
