What good is a war if it's defending a socialist nation? We would be preventing the socialist country from going Islamic socialist, in the likes of Libya and the former state of Southern Yemen.

Rice would get 3.7% of the black vote instead of Bush's 3.6% of the black voteI wonder if Bush has pushed Alan Keyes to the Constitution Party yet??

I'm not opposed to 'government' I'm opposed to left-wing government. You are a terribly confused indivudual. Left-wing IS pro government. Of any kind.
Ever hear of the saying 'He who governs least governs best'?

It doesn't matter who is in power. Government will continue to grow, even with a Republican.

Since we are all doomed .. has Drudge put up more then a head line yet?Drudge doesn't have to put up more than a headline. All Drudge has to do is say a story is "developing" and everybody simply follows.

This proposed spending by Bush violates 3 of the 4 (#'s 1,2, and 4).One could argue that it violates #3 as well: Individuals should have a right not to have to pay for the arts...

"If Bush went with the policies you demand of him, he'd be right where the Constitution Party is in the polls, or where Pat Buchannan was in 2000. Get it?"
Either Rick Perry, Mark Sanford, or Bill Owens will prove you wrong 100% on that point in 2008.

It only takes about 20 posts to go from "if this is true" to "WE ARE DOOMED!"
Proving some people are either too stupid to be trusted with complex concepts or that some people are spring loaded to the hysterical position. For the former, sue the schools you attended , get your money back;for the latter, it might be time for that jump into a volcano . Either way,no loss.

I hope they buy some of those black velvet Elvis paintings for the White House. That would be cool. Hey, HEY - how about a signed copy of "Dogs Playing Pool" for EVERY CITIZEN (legel or not). I am so on-board with this program - what a great use of taxpayer money.

Exactly. But I just cannot believe that the president is not hearing his base who seems to be pretty vociferous here. Something seems to be going on at the WH that we are not privy too. But then, I dont like what he is doing now, but I sure am going to like a lot less of what the eventual opponent would do, if he gets into the WH.

In your wildest dreams did you ever think you would make a post about Dubya like that? Before the amnesty proposal? Nope. After (and now)? Unfortunately, yep.
'Tis a slippery slope indeed.

CONGRESS SETS ARTS FUNDING INCREASE FOR 2004
House and Senate conferees on the Interior Appropriations Bill agreed late Monday, October 27, 2003, on a final spending measure to include $122.5 million for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), a $6.8 million increase over the NEA's FY2003 budget of $115.7 million.
The arts appropriations legislation first passed by the House in July added $10 million in grant funds to the NEA's budget above the president's request of $117.5 million. The Senate passed its money bill before the August recess with arts spending at the president's budget figure, which included a small increase for administrative costs.
The House of Representatives is expected to pass the final Interior appropriations measure within a day or two, and the Senate will likely follow soon thereafter.
The additional spending for the NEA represents an important victory for arts advocates, since a similar increase in NEA funds for FY2003 was approved by the House and then eliminated by the House-Senate conference committee last fall. This year, the House Interior Appropriations Subcommittee Chair Rep. Charles Taylor (R-NC) prevailed in convincing his fellow legislators that the increase in NEA spending was essential to the final appropriations package.

Same thinking as in 92...vote Perot or Clinton to prove a point. The problem being of course that Clinton got in started doing serious damage to the country and mostly to the military and intelligence communities...94 was great but Newt refused to bend on gov shutdown and Clinton got re-elected to do even more damaged. Nose/Face. Baby/Bathwater.

Drudge doesn't have to put up more than a headline. All Drudge has to do is say a story is "developing" and everybody simply follows. And some blow up with the force of a hydrogen bomb. FR would be a good place to test anti-ulcer medication considering how much anger some people here seem to have.
