It's a direct, deliberate insult. D*mn straight.
Yes, Bush sits around thinking up ways to insult people...
To: MamaLucci
Why dont people get a write in campaign to let Bush know that his base is not thrilled with his policies. Like it or not, he is much better than the alternatives but we have to send this up to not only POTUS but congress also. If our base doesnt make noise and just keep arguing about this, nothing is going to get done and Kerry or someone as awful as him is going to waltz in and then we will be left in the wilderness.

Hey at least Rudy would be an AssKicker on National Security!
Rice on the other hand is vastly overated on National Security - her decision to take a six month detour at the UN is what gave Saddam enough time to sneak the WMDs to Syria.
And on Social issues she is an utter RINO.

I'm gonna wait and see if this story has any meat to it. But
if it does, I too have had enough.
I hurriedly skimmed through a lot of this thread but seems someone mentioned this maybe being a trial balloon. I can't conceive of anyone on the Right not knowing for the last 20 years what the NEA means to us. We're long past due going to war with the Left, instead of fence sitting and appeasing them.
No more of this "Great Healer" sewage.

I don't care what the increase is. It's the principle of the thing.

Government is not the solution to our problem, government is the problem. Isn't that a Barry Goldwater quote?

Rice would get 3.7% of the black vote instead of Bush's 3.6% of the black vote.

I agree wholeheartedly on education being a state matter but unfortunately they've made a mess of it. NCLB really only applies to existing Fed money as I understand it: follow standards and test or you don't get the money. I've gotta disagree on our Gov. Jeb, although it's really no fault of his own...the class size ammendment is going to be a KILLER if we don't get rid of it.
I'm all for militarizing the border but I see the absolute disaster of the non english speaker driving a truck with 30 illegals packed in it making a run for it while chased by troops who don't even need to fire a shot, running the truck off a cliff and all of the sudden the military gets blamed by the whacko left for killing 30 "innocent people" throw in a few pregant women (they wouldn't care if it were an abortion but this is a chance to whack the Prez and the military) and it would be their ideal.
I'm with you on judges too and it's my fervent wish that the White House is waiting for the right time to make it an issue. If not I'll be truly disappointed but no enough to let the other guys win...we both know that every FL vote counts, sometimes more than once!

It only takes about 20 posts to go from "if this is true" to "WE ARE DOOMED!" I'm still at the "if this is true" point. But if it is, then I'll be trading in my Bushbot deely-bobbers for a good, loud megaphone.

Rudy is about as RINO as can be on most social issues. I'd still take him over someone like Hildabeast but I'd rather not have to make such a choice.
To: victoryovertheleft
Again, we're talking about a few million dollars here. Nothing, in government terms.Er, that's part of the whole problem with big government.
These socialist are spending millions of our hard earned dollers like it was nothing. They could care less.
If we all spent like they are doing, we'd all be pushing shopping carts down main street looking for aluminum cans....Sheesh!

Oh my how the Republican Congress has changed!! ... They really went after it back in the mid-1990s:
1992 $175,954,680
1993 $174,459,382
1994 $170,228,000
1995 $162,311,000
1996 $ 99,470,000
1997 $ 99,494,000
1998 $ 98,000,000
1999 $ 97,966,000
2000 $97,627,600
2001 $104,769,000
2002 $115,220,000
How about going back to under $100 million???

The way this President is acting in the last month, makes you wonder if he's nipping at the bottle again. Was listening to a radio program the other day interviewing an author who wrote a book about Laura Bush. Seems to me the first lady is coming out of her shell. Being upset about this news is one thing
But only liberals make cheap shots like that

As for Bill Moyers, that shows the CORRUPTION in PBS. He has made millions on his insider deals with PBS, sits and pontificates on issues that his favorite foundation (Schumann Foundation) showers him with funds to study and make shows about. He's reselling the same cr*p pablum to PBS three different ways, when they are a "non-profit".
Bill O'Reilly has been absolutely great on pointing this very thing out.
I could go along with throwing the NEA a bone, as long as we
completely defunded PBS at the same time. :)
