What part of "illegal" don't Americans understand?

Which side one takes in the great debate over illegal immigration policy is a matter of values.

Do you treasure a strong, independent United States of America as the beacon of freedom in the world? Are you proud to live in a nation where personal liberty and free choice led to the creation of the highest standard of living and the best medical care in history? Do you believe in the free enterprise system? Do you believe in the rule of law, based on the Constitution, as the only way to protect your natural rights? Do you believe that the United States is unique among any other nation or system on earth?

If you hold these ideals as truth, then there is only one solution to illegal immigration. It must be stopped. None of the factors that distinguish the United States from all others can be preserved if this nation erases its borders and ignores its founding principles, primary among which is the rule of law. Ignoring or sanctioning eight million or more illegal immigrants among us will destroy the fabric of the nation.

Literally millions of Arab and Persian Muslims, as well as others spread across Africa, India, Indonesia, and other Muslim population centers, are caught up in the most dangerous theologically-based fantasy since the last century when Germans under Hitler, the Italians under Mussolini, and the Japanese under Tojo yielded to the fantasies that led them into a second World War. Fantasies of past and future empires mesmerized them all.

Of all fantasies, though, the most dangerous are those embedded in religion. For these fantasists, it is not merely Osama bin Laden, the ayatollahs of Iran, or the Palestinian leaders calling upon them, but Allah himself. This is the fantasy of the Islamic Jihad or Holy War. The Muslims---and we cannot tell who among them is with us or against us---have become our enemies and the enemies of Western civilization.

This is why tiny Israel has never ceased to be under attack by Muslims, now calling themselves Palestinians, despite having no claim to statehood, along with neighboring Syria and other nations throughout the Middle East. What is at stake is the very existence of Israel and its Jewish citizens. The same hatred directed at them is the hatred directed at the United States and its allies in the West and elsewhere.

Generations grew up during the half-century "Cold War" with Communist Russia. We understood the Soviets, however, to be rational people unwilling to risk their lives and their nation to impose Communism through war. The concept of mutually assured destruction worked because Russia’s leaders were not crazy. Al Qaeda does not operate by the rules that guide the affairs of most nations of the world. Al Qaeda is not a nation; it is a fanatical religious movement.

Harris points out that "in the fantasy ideology of radical Islam, suicide plays an absolutely indispensable role. It is not a means to an end but the end in itself. Seen through the distorting prism of radical Islam, the act of suicide is transformed into an act of martyrdom---martyrdom in all its transcendent glory and accompanied by the panoply of magical powers that religious tradition has always assigned to it."

Thus, as this new century begins to take shape, we confront an enemy for whom death not only holds no fear, but is embraced. It explains the bomber who kills innocent men, women and children in an Israeli restaurant. The bomber in Bali and the attacks on the United Nations and Red Cross headquarters in Baghdad. It explains 9-11.

It tells us that we must find, capture or kill the cancer loose in the world called al Qaeda.

Illegal immigration is a ruse. Let me explain...

Illegal immigration is a real problem, but a manufactured one by the leftist "enemy within" intent on the incremental destruction of our country through balkanization, subversion, and perversion of our Western culture. Illegal immigration acts as wedge and smokescreen to the number one critical issue facing America in the 21st century: LEGAL IMMIGRATION. Notice how many ardent opponents of illegal immigration (eg, Buchanan and Tancredo) are caving in to the "enemy within" by demanding a moratorium on immigration, both legal and illegal. Notice how the vast majority of the masses, while against illegal immigration, bleet like a bunch of sheep that they are not opposed to immigration per se and they would be content if these illegal aliens entered through legal means. But the issue is not one of legality or quantity, but one of QUALITY.

Few would argue that illegal immigrants should not be sent home to where they came from. I'm one who would love to see them deported. They bring little to our way of life other than crime, job losses, educational chaos, cultural erosion and language barriers.

The writing on the American wall reads: Legal immigration is the national issue that will determine whether we survive or be driven to extinction.

It seems though that America is asleep at the wheel of a car headed for assimilation by foreign cultures at breakneck speed. No sizeable nation in the history of the world has ever undergone such a sweeping population shift in so short a period. In addition to the cultural changes, immigration (both legal and illegal) will transform a spacious and resource rich nation to a far more crowded and environmentally damaged land.

The fact is that the notion of multiculturalism is a lie, for it demands the destruction of the United States and Western culture. Many who can see what's happening cannot muster the courage to speak out openly and endure the accusations of the leftist media. The oft-repeated refrain of the American government and the media is that to be opposed to unlimited immigration is un-American, against the very principles upon which our Founding Fathers created this nation. But the more I research this issue, I find that the medai has embarked on a massive non-American, alien invasion that is un-American.

What is at stake here is nothing less than the essential nature of the United States being changed, debased and degraded through illegal and legal immigration.
