Chalk up another battle won for the good guys, and slowly, but surely we will win the war too.

So what now? Looks like EOM and the countdown clock imploded as we're all still around, so I say we should go on a little offensive and track the people making the threats down.
To: SpoofChicken
I am sure those people are being tracked and watched and have been for some time -- if they are real.
Clearly there have been some serious attacks planned for over the Christmas holidays, the now around the Muslim holidays, and almost miraculaously, with a lot of hard work, we have been able to foil them. The more attacks we foil, the more AQ loses face in front of the other jihadis, that they are all talk, no action.
Even Bin Laden said on the tape we found, which was not meant for public consumption, that people respect "the strong horse". Well, now the US is the strong horse, and AQ is the weak one. Those people only respect strength and force, and so far, we are definitely winning.
Of course the threat is not over, because a few AQ can do serious damage, so we have to stay vigilant.
But they must be getting very frustrated, right about now.

By Pat Reavy
Deseret Morning News
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "SANDY Investigators Tuesday were looking for a man who allegedly attacked a woman while posing as a Sandy police officer.
The incidenthappened Jan. 29 at a house near 10100 South and 400 East. About 3:44 p.m. a man dressed as a detective in a sports coat, tie and slacks knocked on the door, said Sandy police Sgt. Michelle Burnette.
A 27-year-old woman in the house looked through her window to see who it was and saw a man who had a police badge clipped to his jacket, Burnette said.
The woman asked what the man wanted, and he replied he needed to ask her some questions. The homeowner then opened the door and allowed the man inside.
The woman said that when she turned to get her 2-year-old son, who was at the top of a nearby staircase, the man pushed her down and assaulted her, Burnette said.
The woman said she tried to fight back and that after several minutes of struggling, the man left the house.
???? Burnette said detectives were still unsure of a motive Tuesday.
"That's the mystery," she said.
The woman said nothing was taken from the home, she did not know the man and she was not sexually assaulted.
After the incident, the woman told police, she locked her door and called 911. She was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for several cuts and bruises on her face and released.
While talking to a pair of real Sandy police detectives at the hospital, she told them the badge of the attacker was similar to theirs but not quite the same, Burnette said. The attacker's badge was gold."

Nice and quiet here in Oregon also. We even managed to tell the state legislature to stick it where the sun don't shine tonight, after having done the same last year. I hope they get the message loud and clear this time.

AP ^ | 2/3/2004 | Brad Cain PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) Oregonians overwhelmingly rejected a proposed tax increase on Tuesday, setting the stage for yet another round of slashing in spending for schools, courts and other programs already reeling from earlier cuts. "The margin of defeat is larger than expected," said Kevin Mannix, state GOP chairman and opponent of the $800 million tax package. "It's not just a defeat. It's a swift kick in the pants to business-as-usual politicians who have ignored the need for reform," he said. Gov. Ted Kulongoski has said he is... |
