I'm not quite sure what to make of this one.

A really sweet article. What a pleasant change from the current day inter-party ugliness.

Cute kid, but I don't buy the story. If Jessica Jackson really wanted to meet President Bush, I'm sure that her father (or grandfather) could have made arrangements for a private meeting. Instead, her father just happened to choose the nationally televised SOTU as the appropriate time for little Jessica to meet the president, in spite of the rules against children being present. I think it was a prearranged photo-op.

Okay, so here's the question. Does all of the good congressman's constituents have the means to send their kids to karate class and ballet, etc? Just wondering about all those good people on the South Side of Chicago, home of BAD, BAD LEROY BROWN.

I actually think Jesse Jackson Jr. was touched by President Bush's sweet exchange with his daughter. When Bush talked about the little girl's letter, I could've sworn that I saw tears in Jesse Junior's eyes.
I think Jr. is just fulfiiling his role as his Daddy's son. He might actually admire that Bush has put Condi and Colin in such high places of power, which they so richly deserve.

That little girl is precious, and I'm very glad that President "Boosh" took time to hold her.

Did they sweep her for bombs first? You know what THAT family's like....

I think it's a really cute story. It sounds like the wisest person in the Jackson family is the 3-year-old!

It is absolutely great. Bush obviously loves children and just had to take that little beauty in his arms as would I.
Jesse Jr. said that she thinks Bush is "like Prince Charming." I am impressed that he does not pour his poison in her little ears.

How nice it is to read an upbeat article like this one. Here's to little Jessica's future as a Republican!!
My daddy's a FRD Democrat, but raised 5 *very* Republican children. So anything's possible.

I'm going to take the article at face value.
I watched the SOTU, and that precious little girl was thrilled to meet and hug President Bush. Did you see her face? That was pure joy. And they cut to her several times during the speech, and she was happily clapping along.
Just ONCE, during this nasty, mean, political season, I'm opting to believe the story - and ulterior motives be damned.

Poor little girl will enventually be corrupted by her father. Hopefully she'll be strong enough to resist.
