It was very cute. President Bush picked her up as he came in.

Maybe she WILL grow up to be a Republican. Such things are known to happen.

I had the opportunity to meet Jesse and his wife in Korea a few years back. He's nothing like his dad, in my opinion. I enjoyed talking with him.

On a more serious note, Jackson said he is well aware of the glass ceiling that prevents many women from rising beyond a certain point in their careers.

Yeah, Condoleezza Rice and Oprah Winfrey have each banged their heads on that old glass ceiling.

I thought it was cute. Here's hoping that the apple falls a little further from the tree...

Black conservative ping

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

"I'm not quite sure what to make of this one."

It's all very simple, she and her illegitimate aunt are about the same age.

Was it possible that Jessica had been exposed to some exaggerated descriptions and — out of curiosity — had asked to see the president's horns and tail for herself?

"Not at all," Jackson said. "In fact, she has never heard me express my opinions of the president at home.

"Unlike some people in politics, I keep my professional and private lives very separate.

"I never take political disagreements personally."

I'm glad to hear that (at least so far) he's not politically indoctrinating/corrupting his daughter.

"She applauded every time the president talked about his tax cuts," Jackson laughed.

"I think she may be a Republican."

Could very well happen that she turns out Republican. It often happens that the most conservative parents have liberal children (my biggest fear with my daughter) and the most whacked-out liberal parents have very conservative children......

I love this story, and Jessica is a doll! Her dad sounds like he has a good sense of humor, too!

On a more serious note, Jackson said he is well aware of the glass ceiling that prevents many women from rising beyond a certain point in their careers.

I thought they finally figured out that what prevents many women from rising beyond a certain point in their careers is that they take a couple of years off, or more, to focus on the more important things in life:

http://www.fww.org/famnews/1204c.htm
The researchers found that women put the brakes on their careers after their first child, regardless of their career status, men tended to scale back only after they had achieved an "acceptable level of flexibility and autonomy in their careers."

A family friend of ours got her law degree, but hasn't worked as an attorney in years, preferring to raise a happy, healthy, whip-smart brood of four delightful kids.

I mean, would anyone want to spend time at work if they didn't have to, when they could be spending time raising and teaching joyful children instead?

I'm not quite sure what to make of this one.

I'm going to play the cynic and suggest that Junior is looking out for his daughter's political career.

Remember the picture of Clinton and JFK?

What I make of it is what an incredibly decent man our president is and how lucky we are to have him. I may not agree with all of his policies but then I don't have to. It has never been a mark of someones worth how much they agree with you.
I think America has been blessed that each time in history we have been challenged a great man has stepped up to the plate.

She was decked out pretty good that little girl..
BUT she was asleep close to the end of the speech..
The cameras showed her... "contemplating" ...the Presidents speech..

Just before I fell off in my chair.. ugh.. to do the same..
(cough) very heavy speech... and I dreamed of Mexicans four abreast marching across the border crossings all named Juan or Juanita with work permits mailed by illegals here in the U.S. and border guards(INS) asleep in the guard shack with Sombreros pulled down over the faces with a sign on their chests reading wake me when its time for retirement...(and the tip bucket was overflowing with pesos)

And I woke up with a revelation.....
What if we had a new service like the Coast Guard called the LAND GUARD... with the same purpose(border patrol).?... course the Coast Guard is mainly now a rescue service and only intercepts drugs when a new boat is needed (RICO and all that)...

Naah!... that wouldn't work... too much money involved in chattel slavery.. drug payoffs and other corruptions,,,, looks like the mid-east's bribe-o-culture economy is rampant in the hills and dales of the new banana republic.. pity too... we had such a good start provided by the founding fathers.

Nice speech otherwise...

The child may be a doll but I suspect an ulterior motive considering who the Father is. Daddy Rev. Jackson's name has been getting bad press lately due to the fact that the libs are no longer in control. Further, the numerous black leaders that were overshadowed by the Rev. due the bias liberal media are finally being heard and not suprisingly listened to. The Rev. is on his way out. I think Jr. used his kid as a prop for attention and some good press as well as to help distance himself from Daddy.

All well and good, but is it fair, I mean really fair? Jesse Jackson has illegitimate children all over the place and are their children given this sort of national attention? No, they are not and they will suffer for it as they grow older. It would only fair for Bush to ogle evry one of Jesse's grandchildren, legitimate or not, criminals or not, running scams or not. Just because Jesse may not know who they are, their mothers know that Jesse was the father.

And talking about fair, it is not fair that Jesse's grandchildren get all this attention and the true black hero, ML King, gets nothing but lip service from folks who resent the money grubbing of Corrie and her clan. It was King who got shot and is the martyr. Jesse was just nearby, yet gets all the attention and big bucks. That's not fair.

I saw her and she is a delight an adorable sweet child. It was really a pleasure to see her and now to know at age 3 she wanted to meet the president she is on a mission from the Lord!

My heart will hold a place for her!

Cute article, but leave it to triple J to get this not so subtle "it's all Bush's fault dig in. It seems to me that thanks to President Bush little Jessican can at least aspire to be National Security Advisor today, so that's a start.

I would also like to point out that women and minorities (or any other "special interest group") have the ability to persue any dream today as long as they are not conservative judicial candidates. In those cases, their sex or race works against them.
