ALL of us in the Houston area know the difference b/w a hispanic and a middle easterner, considering that we see members of both groups all the time. We also have gotton the same reports (from local news) about all of the recent casing of chemical plants. Those who work for or who have friends who work for chem plants in the area have also heard the info coming from the Chemical plant corps themselves about the very high terrorism alert regarding their faciliities.

She's playing the PR game. She should have kept her mouth shut as should others like yourself who don't live here and KNOW NOTHING.

It's pretty hard to imagine a plausible motive for shooting the security guard if the suspect was innocently taking photographs of the facility. In fact, it's pretty hard to imagine why anyone would want to take a photograph at all.

This is not proof that the plant was being considered for a terrorist attack, but it's a very logical inference.

Why would someone be taking pictures of a plant at night. Plants are well lite so you can take pics, but why at night? Why would someone taking pictures shot a guard that is merely interesting in why he's taking pictures?

Seriously, in today's environment, while we can't jump to conclusion that it was terror related, in the face of what has been reported it is just as rediculous to categorically rule it out. A Mid-eastern looking man who can't speak good english is taking pictures of a chemical plant (the ammonia tank no less) and then shoots the security guard who comes to investigate.

Nope...while you can't jumnp to the conclusion that it was terrorism...it is just as crazy (and in today's world perhpas more so) to rule it out.

A dark-complexioned man with a Semitic nose is more like to be Middle-Eastern than Mexican. Someone working in Texas, who sees Hispanics all day, is unlikely to mistakenly call a mexican a Middle-Easterner
