[history]
This is PETA's Super Bowl ad pitch to CBS: Two scantily clad women try to seduce a pizza man but discover that he can't deliver "the goods". CBS rejected the ad. PETA says the network isn't playing fair.
Michael McGraw, spokesman for the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), said the group used the provocative subject matter to make the point that eating meat causes impotence.

THe theory is that eating meat leads to Arterial Sclerosis and hardened arteries. The impairment of blood flow then leads to erectile dysfunction.
I think its BS.

It's a proven fact that smoking is a deadly habit Yep and especially for the occasional anti-smoking femi-nazi who tries to make me put out my Camel® in a bar -- after sitting down next to ME. WHILE I'm smoking!

You need to work on your understanding of how this all works. No doubt I do.
But they aren't supposed to accept democratic ads and reject republican ads, because that would run counter to public interest and equal time.
I don't think they should be allowed to reject certain advocacy points, and accept others.
Whether I agree with them or not.

There are innumerable Google hits for "meat impotence" that cite "studies" but I haven't found one yet that names the actual studies that established this so-called fact.
Are there any, or is this another PETA lie?

This morning I had Dean Edell on the radio and he said that there is a form of dementia that is caused by vitamin B12 deficiencies. Since vitamin B12 is generally obtained in our diet from meat and dairy products, he said this is a concern for vegans. Even when we're being facetious we're right!

They should still be allowed to air the AD though Well, CBS rejects a lot of things for no good reason. PETA isn't receiving special 'mistreatment.'

Or should I say "the networks" - instead of just CBS.

...is this another PETA lie? That would depend. Is PETA talking? If so, then yes, they probably are.

I'm pushing 43 years old really hard (no pun intended). I have eaten a diet high in meat and fat my entire life. My wife often wishes that the PETA "health experts" were at least partially accurate in this claim. I guess if I were a vegan, I'd be dangerous when let out of my cage!!

That's why Viagra and Levitra are advertising... ;)Those dastards at Viagra made me have to think about Bob Dole's member. Now the Levitra guys are forcing me to consider that the stuff works for Mike Ditka. Ewwwwww.
Even so, the Enzyte commercials are the worst, with its endless veiled innuendos (the neighbor with the flaccid garden hose, the oversize bowling shoes, etc.). I can't imagine what it's like to be the actor portraying "Bob!" in those Enzyte spots. The looks that guy must get when someone recognizes him.

(Just because I don't think like you doesn't mean I don't think for myself)
"CBS has no problem with airing commercial after commercial advocating the consumption of fried chicken, pork sausage and fast-food burgers... Dear Peta member,
Burger King, for example, pays CBS big money to try to sell meat. PETA wants to follow the BK commercial with an anti-meat commercial. CBS isn't (that) stupid. They can't fill up advertising time with anti-product advertising. That's why they can run an anti-smoking ad. Because they aren't broadcasting pro-smoking ads. That's why they don't run anti-drinking ads. They run ads promoting responsible drinking. Get it?
