Bush Booed in Visit to Martin Luther King's Grave

ATLANTA (Reuters) - Several hundred protesters loudly booed President Bush on Thursday as he laid a wreath at the grave of Martin Luther King on the anniversary of the civil rights leader's birth.

"Bush go home" and "peace not war" the protesters shouted from behind a barrier of parked buses across the street from King's grave.

Yeah, a lot of people like to be known as "preachers for the Lord" (of course many do not submit to Christ's Lordship). I'd rather remember King by the reality of his deeds rather than some leftist media created myth. You don't believe all of the Kennedy myths about "Camelot" too, do you?

I don't know the details of MLK's history, but the one thing I recall hearing about his teachings was that blacks should not try to lower whites to their standards, but should make every effort to raise their own standards so that color no longer matters.

Yet today's black leaders, when speaking in reverent tones of the great Martin Luther King, never repeat that all important message.

I've been a member of FR for several years, and this thread contains some of the more tasteless posts I've ever read. I can't beleive the foolishness espoused by some of my fellow FReepers. But they are a minority, and don't represent us as a whole.

Lawn jockeys were sign posts for runaway slaves way back when. Ribbons on their arms indicated a house of safety or danger. Also, the first Kentucky Derby winner was a black jockey (Lewis).

A young black man volunteered to watch George Washington's calvary horses while they attacked the redcoats. He stood silently with the horses and his lantern. When the troops returned, the young man had frozen to death still holding his lantern. Jocko Graves was his name.

Black men have a history of being horsemen - One of my favorite WBTS cavalry re-enactors is a black man. Another (black) rancher I know rides like the devil!

Secondly, I saw many of the protest photos, and guess what? Most of the protesters (including at least one of the arrested) were white!

Ah. This information, plus the MLK "War is Not the Answer" and "Money for Jobs and Healthcare, Not for War", convinces me that a large percentage of these folks were from International ANSWER (a lilywhitegroup of communists who scream incessantly about America's racism, while they support actual genocidal dictators abroad). They're even recycling their antiwar signs from last year!

It's a shame that some people occasionally make it look like ANSWER has a point.
