Germany invents "anti-ageing" beer 1 hour, 38 minutes ago

BERLIN (Reuters) - A German brewery has developed a beer containing vitamins and minerals it says are designed to slow the ageing process.

The Neuzeller Kloster Brewery plans to introduce its "Anti-Aging-Bier" this year and sell it in grocery and drug stores, a spokesman for the company said on Friday.

"It tastes like beer more than it tastes like anything else," the spokesman told Reuters.

The brewery said the beer contained a host of added ingredients that promote good health. But the German government may object to the brewery calling the drink "beer" since a law dating back to 1516 says beer brewed in Germany can only be made from barley, hops, yeast and water.

Who cares about anti-ageing. Take a vitamin if you're worried a might bit.

I'll take a pint of IPA, bartender.

So a young beer now never become ripe, full bodied beer? Krap.

Can't forget the preceeding dose of Jaegermeister.

"It tastes like beer more than it tastes like anything else," the spokesman told Reuters.

DUH! What else is it supposed to taste like?

"It tastes like (Add your own word)___________________ more than it tastes like anything else," the spokesman told Reuters.

My daughter got me the t-shirt with "Beer, Helping White Guys Dance Since 1842" on it on Father's Day 2002. It brought tears to my eyes! :-) It's a real hit wearing it to parties and bars!

Buy you a pitcher at the HAT Birthday Party - Jan. 24.
Or is this more of an immediate sort of crisis?

Actually, the Reinheitsgebot specified only barley, hops and water. They didn't know about yeast back then.

That was the most frightening sentence in the whole article. I think what it means is:

It tastes like beer more than it tastes like regurgitated rotten calf's liver.

Hmmmmm...
I don't think that slogan is gonna sell very well..
But maybe the commercials will have some sexy babes drinking the stuff.

I like the hard-to-get kind... Beer that is.

From Germany, Pfungstadter - from the town of Pfungstadt, near Darmstadt.

Dinkl is also great - especially out of a draught in Prague.

Of course our microbrews kick @$$ - and now that I'm in the Pittsburgh area I miss the old New Amsterdam, cause the state-run distributors only get old expired cases.

The most frustrating thing in all creation is going to a place that only has Bud, Miller, Coors, etc.
