Why are so many people moving to Tennessee?

Warm weather year-round, centralized location, great paying and lots of manufacturing jobs, cheap housing, great hunting and fishing, solid highways, and most people are conservative and down-to-earth.

Beautiful state.

Lots of people are moving to Tennessee.

Just don't go to Memphis. But do visit Nashville. Despite what you think about it being a country haven, Nashville is actually very culturally diverse. I tend to think of it as a conservative San Francisco.

One problem up there in upstate NY, though -- it's awfully cold in the winter (-9 tonight, eh? LOL)!

Even Nurse Bloomberg is doing some sort of tax reduction/rebate on the 18.5% property tax he rammed through when he first got into office.

In NYC, it was actually colder during the day than it is at night. In fact, I think I'm going to go outside and take a walk. :)

You know, there's been a movement in parts of LA to secede, particularly the San Fernando Valley.

Last year, they held a city-wide vote and surprise, surprise, surprise...it was voted down. The Valley areas voted for secession but the rest of the city overwhelmingly voted it down.

LA's city govt is so addicted to the tax revenue from the Valley areas that they did everything they could to prevent the secession.

You don't know the half of it -- you don't know my neighborhood! ;)

Actually, it's pretty quiet at night, except for my upstairs neighbors, whom I'm going to destroy one night.

"The reason, he said, is that high taxes are choking residents and businesses."

Thus why Florida shall continue to explode. Sadly the liberals from California and New York are moving here also, expecting the same daddy-day-care services that those states created. I see Florida turning left in 10 years unfortunately.

Have your stereo speakers up against the ceiling while you play your Skynyrd CD. :)

Many relatives have moved away over the years. To Vermont. To Florida. To North Carolina. Soon, his parents will relocate to Tennessee.
No finer argument for federalism was ever made...

No worries -- the doorman said that it's "two swishy guys" who live up there. I'm working on getting them evicted. And in the meantime, if they give me more hassles, one Sunday morning, my dad will come visit me nice and *early*, and have a little chat with them...

Oh, and now that the wind has kicked up, it's *cooooold* out there! Even one drunk homey called out to me "Whatchoo doing out here, little girlie?!"

Hard to do with a 14-foot ceiling...
