she alluded to Mahatma Gandhi's moral problems and character issues, much to the astonishment of tonight's substitute liberal.

No kidding! I didn't catch it, but that's interesting. Did the host swallow his tongue...?

The guy sitting in for Colmes (I missed his name) raised his eyebrows and, with a slight tone of incredulity, asked Linda Chavez if she didn't respect Gandhi for bringing India out from under British rule peacefully, and then helping to create the largest Democracy in the world.

Linda smiled and brushed him off, saying that yeah, she did appreciate those things, but added that Gandhi should not be held up and lionized. She said, "he is no hero", or something close to that. It was ballsy and very politically incorrect, but then, Linda stands on solid ground. (She reminds me a lot of Ann Coulter, in that she is extremely self-confident and happy with who she is.)
