You're right, people need to realize that the term ‘nazi’ has now come to mean not only the National Socialist party that ruled Germany for those years but also any extremely strict rule, law or person. Hence the ‘Soup Nazi’ of Seinfeld or the 'anti-smoking nazis or the term 'feminazi'.

Of course this does not mean that is okay to compare Bush with Hitler or the other stupid comparisons they are making at moveon.org or Democratic Underground.

The difference is that the FR threads were only seen by a few thousand people tops, and were obvious parodies.

The 30 second video ads that they are showing over at MoveOn.org were finalists in a contest where the winner will be shown on various broadcast outlets. The winning ad will have a media buy of $7 Million or so I think.

And one of these ads that morphed President George W. Bush into Hitler was shown (briefly) as one of the finalists for that contest.

Yes, you're right. The Right never even got this fanatical during the darkest days of Clinton. I question the sanity of the political Left- it would be madness to entrust them with any political power given the insanity, anger, and hatred they're demonstrateing.

Do we have any screen shots / saved web pages of this? Some lefties are spinning this, saying they weren't finalists, and they didn't have control over every post on that contest site.

Pro'lly why the Sidebar Mod pulled my post announcing that site. I was doing it more to suggest a FReep opportunity - the 'Rats are selling tickets to the finalist selection event - next month at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, if I remember correct.
