MSNBC just announced that three flights from Paris to the U.S. have been suddenly cancelled due to "security concerns". The first flight was scheduled to depart Paris heading for Los Angeles.
I could not find an article yet.

True, but if a terrorist attack is prevented, people will say the Alert Level was hyped. If a terrorist attack actually occurs, they'll say it was the fault of the Bush administration. Darned if ya do and darned if ya don't. Comes with the territory, I'm afraid. Even if it happens, half of Europe, 80% of the Arab world, and every last man, womyn and child in Berkely, CA will think that the CIA did it. You just can't reason with some people.

There are wonderful people and hateful people everywhere!Again I'll second that.
I did some brief work in Paris and my colleagues there were great, we did a lot of things and had a lot of fun. Have had superb times with Germans, Aussies, Irish, Vietnamese, Indonesians, etc.
In fact I was recently in Jakarta and Saigon and felt completely comfortable with the people and personal safety, as always (and not at all surprised about that either).
There are of course some bad apples out there in all cultures and of all nationalities, and they do carry a chip on the shoulder about America. But these are the same kinds of people you'd encounter at any American university or DemoRat convention, with the notable difference that they want to challenge you (as an American) rather than attack you. In that regard I can actually tolerate these bad apples more overseas than in America.
There is one charge I've heard which I do in fact believe: Americans are a tad too insular and unaware of the wider world. Unfortunately, I do see a lot of that here on FR (but then again its an American thing, not at all confined to FR)

Maintaining the monarchy might have been a good idea.
Alas, I now think "the perfidious French" describes them best. And the problem with modern French politicians is that they are very short-sighted. That's why they're not getting any juicy oil contracts, and didn't know about the Gadaffi agreement until after it happened.
In terms of the French French (that is, the real people), I have always liked them - outside of Paris, which is its own world, like any big city. When I have travelled there, and they have always been very helpful and nice.

I wonder if that was infiltrators at work.

Also, Hamdi is being held in the Norfolk naval brig.

We never know what we prevent when this kind of alert is raised, then people complain because nothing bad happens!
Yes. I think a lot more "possible" attacks have been prevented than me have been told. Our government agencies have alot more information then they could ever tell us.
When they are successful in preventing future terrorist acts, we get complacent.
If they were unsuccessful, we'd be criticizing them for failing.
The pressure and tension they deal with almost constantly is intense. We must thank them and appreciate their diligence and hard work. They are unsung, unappreciated heroes every day we do not have a new attack.

And,knocking down the infiltration story.Guess you'd have to with no apparent arrest, otherwise Air France is grounded indefinitley.

First of all there are a lot of non-liberals in CA - that's how we elected Arnold. :)
Second of all, CA is on high alert, especially LA -- with the serious, credible threat to LAX. That's why they canceled the Air France flights -- thereat to LAX.
In 2000, a customs agent fortunately found the bomb a terrorist was brining in from Canada to set if off at LAX.
I think Californians are quite aware that we are very vulnerable.

Steven Emerson on MSNBC said he just heard from govt. sources that more flights will perhaps be cancelled on Friday.

Fox reporting LAX was the target... I imagine there would be many thousands of people there on a big holiday.
