MSNBC just announced that three flights from Paris to the U.S. have been suddenly cancelled due to "security concerns". The first flight was scheduled to depart Paris heading for Los Angeles.
I could not find an article yet.

"This comment needs a sarcasm tag. If you're serious, I don't think you've been paying attention for the last eight months. There is no way the Ba'athists were going to give up power without a fight." Of course they would have. If Saddam had surrendered, which he would have done had France (and the others) stood with us, he would have surrendered the army as well.
There is no excuse for the behaviour of France. None.

A flight from Paris to LAX would over fly ALL of the US. <<< Not if they were direct Paris-LA flights. They would fly a "great circle route" that would have them (and I'm SWAS'ing* here) fly over southern Greenland, Northern Canada, dropping south to enter the US somewhere in Montana and on down to LA.

Perhaps these flights were housed in a hangar that is a security concern, and there is not enough time to re-inspect the planes (rather than a problem with a passenger or crew member)

that'swhat I was thinking. By the time a flight from France got to the US they would not have all that much fuel to blow something up with.
My last flight from London to Dallas came over Newfoundland. I think we entered US airspace over Finger Lakes NY.

Not what you said before, pal...you specifically wished for a terrorist attack on France. Sick stuff. Lighten up, aquaculture! I "specifically" said that it would be the only thing that wakes them up, which is true. Sad, but true. And it's probably going to happen.
What have the French done to support a war on terrorism, except condemn it?
I don't wish a terrorist attack on anybody. They either take it to the terrorists, or the terrorists will take it to them, it's really that simple.
Merry Christmas.

4:05 PM PST is 7:05 EST, NOT "1:05" -- so, wouldn't be schedule to land yet.

Wasn't Lafayette -- who was our main help from France -- a pirate who often went back to France, referring to himself as an American -- not a Frenchman. (I could find the history quote if needed)
To: Steve_Seattle
No the fact that we requested the flights from Paris to be cancelled showed again that we can't trust the frogs in the war on terrorism to do their job in Paris and France.

Yeah...why would they blow the whistle on themselves?
I think they are planting decoy threats.

The only contra indication is no Air CAP flights from near my location. Most times there is Orange Alert the planes are turning and burning.
