Having had some conversations with a bunch of DAs lately about this very topic - (not Rush related, just drug offense related) I am 100% positive that he is being hunted down because of his being the most powerful conservative media voice. No doubt at all. Even meth freaks arrested time after time do little jail time. Only ones who do real time at all are meth cookers and dealers, or those who commit other crimes as well. If I got addicted to pain pills in a similar manner I would never - NEVER - see the inside of a cell. Because I am a nobody.

"The leftists - politicians and media - hate Rush as much as if not more so than they hate Bush. They are drooling and trembling in their lust to destroy him."

You got that right:)

I thought these WOD laws were based on the amount of drug seized. If its over a certain amount, you are automatically considered a dealer and dealt with much more harshly.

So what is your point?

Why don't we all cut the crap and get down to the big question? Should the laws that allow law enforcement and prosecutors to go on witch-hunts over drug use be done away with or should those laws just be re-written to give talk show hosts who are on our side of politics a walk? One choice gets rid of the problem for everyone, the other doesn't.

Drew Barrymore SOLD Drugs? I guess I missed that case. Charlie Sheen Sold Heroin and Cocaine? Really?

BTW, Who's Scott Forster?

Morton Downey Jr (I think you mean Robert) Sold Drugs too?

Steve Howe sold them as well?

Those are alot of cases I guess got passed over, because asside from them being users, which Robert Downey Jr. has indeed served Jail time, I wasn't aware they were all parked out selling dime bags on Melrose...

However, since you've made the charge that they Sold drugs, I'll rely on you back that up...

Should prosecutors cooperate with confidiential informants who are themselves involved in the drug trade?

That's my guess, too. Just deal with it now and get it over with so he can go on with life. The longer this stretches out, the worse it will be for his mental state, which is an important consideration for someone so freshly out of teatment and into recovery.

The government knows that it cannot go after everyone.

First of all there is absolutely NO evidence that Rush Limbaugh broke any law.

Second of all. Are you now calling for an investigation into Jack Osbourne and Brett Favre's medical records as well?

Third. The maid was the one that apparently brought this case into the light of the authorities. Since she was blackmailing Rush, her credibility should be null and void.

Case closed. Move on.

I still think Rush is covering for his wife - maybe they both have a problem.

That's an interesting theory; FWIW, I live in Palm Beach county, and the local rumor mill has not picked up that angle yet.

I think these people who want to see Rush punished - I mean the ones on FR - are libertarians who want to see their fantasy of a free-drug utopia made real. Either that or they're envious because Rush is rich and famous (as if either of those assets ever made anyone really happy within!). Other than that their reasoning makes no sense. Or they're closet liberals.

It isn't a law if its selectively enforced.

Then it becomes a fishing expedition in a policed Nazi state.

Is the government now going to decide that I've got too many advil in my possesion?

Last time I checked, Advil wasn't a controlled substance, Oxycontin was.

Since she was blackmailing Rush, her credibility should be null and void.

Which proof do you have that the maid was blackmailing Rush?

The maid's credibility was enhanced when she presented the prosecutor with e-mails and voice recordings supporting her story.

I have not read about Rush having the maid on tape trying to blackmail Rush.

Do you have a link to any story providing proof of the maid's blackmail beyond Roy Black's statements?

So exactly where is the evidence? Exactly where is this Oxyconton you keep screeching about?

I don't see it. How do you know its Oxycontin?

Are you involved with the case?

My point is any other person caught doing what Rush was doing would be facing hard-time in a maximum security prison for years.

You do not need to prove that a person was selling illegal drugs, its only the amount that was seized from the person that counts.

A charge like this against a normal person would be devastating. Against Rush, its nothing his million dollar lawyers can't get him out of no doubt.

Just a small distraction.

And that my friends is "justice" in America!

Where does that equal plea bargain??

Now hear this as long as the gov. of fla. has the right of pardon Rush is never going to be convicted of anything.
