The Kwanzaa controversy somehow bypassed me, until my African bride forced me to evaluate it. My wife can trace her ancestry directly to Shaka, who reigned over much of sub-Saharan Africa until defeated by the combination of the most powerful European armies at the turn of the last century and tribal leaders who grew disenchanted with the Zulu king. One of these defecting tribal leaders was, in turn, one of my wife's more direct ancestors.

I'm almost done updating my annual Counter-Kwanzaa Link List and will begin posting it shortly. This is the first article I've seen this year that discusses the true meaning of Kwanzaa.

He was assassinated by his own lieutenants, yes. But the "most powerful European" armies were deployed elsewhere: in Euruope. History witnesses that Shaka never attempted to invade the dark penninsula, or even knew it existed.

Pan-African holiday
***Biggest lie of the them all. Hey this article IS THE BEST article I've read on Kwanzaa. Short to the point. I bet that dumb condescending white liberal 'teacher' had no idea the boy's stepfather was a white man with a brain. Pan African holiday? No way. My best friend is from Ghana, and I asked her if any black Africans celebrate kwanzaa. The answer is always no. I asked my boyfriend if there's kwanzaa in South Africa, and he laughed saying 'the blacks there have more important things to do'.
GOOD article.

I don't quite know how to post links yet (still fairly new at this), but mhking posted a great article the other day titled "P21: Why Black Christians Shouldn't Celebrate Kwanzaa".
Seems the "holiday" was invented in the 1960s by a convicted felon who based it on customs of East Africans (so he claimed), even though the majority of Afican Americans came from west African regions.
If someone wants to link this, please do.

Shaka Zulu went very noisily insane. His unceasing brutality was his downfall.
And Kwanzaa is a fake holiday concocted by a neo-socialist sociopath.

I got firm admonishment for an html violation when I first used this site so I don't dare post a link. What are you talking about? People post links here almost constantly. There's nothing wrong with giving links, as a matter of fact its usually encouraged.

Is Kwanzaa a by product of people needing more ethnic ties to a ancestral religion, or is it a manipulation of forlorn people for political gain?
I do not really know much about it, and I have followed the links.
I personally do not wish to deny any person their right to celebrate any holiday, no matter its origins, but I do not like political manipulations of any person, of any skin color , of any religion.

...but before he was assassinated, I put all of his money into a secret bank account. Now, if you email me back with your checking account number, I can arrange to have $30 million US deposited into your account.
Of course, this transaction must remain confidential...

I have never heard anyone talk about Kwanzaa. However, I do hear a lot of people talking about Christmas in spite of a tiny movement to ban it from existance.

I get a lot of these e-mails.

So do I. Frankly, I think that they're fake.
I've sent all the info they wanted, and I haven't seen one red cent.
Oh, yeah, and that other stuff...it doesn't work. I haven't gotten "naturally larger"....
