Not adescendant of Islam's Prophet Mohammed, not a martyr.
Just a bullying thug whose days are just about over.

The cancellation of Saddam's noble lineage was decided three days after his capture... ...which is a pretty good indication of how much his return was still feared, and that it no longer is. Bad news for Baathists.

First Tarik Aziz changing his son's name and now this....
Sounds like Saddam is getting dissed in several directions.

The cancellation of Saddam's noble lineage was decided three days after his capture by US forces on Saturday night near Tikrit, in northern Iraq.

Must it be Mad Arab Mohammed or just any quack Mohammed?
To: TexKat
I can't imagine why he would not be a descendant of Mohammed when just about everyone else is. I think I am, as are most other folks who trace back to certain European monarchs, which is just about everyone in the US with European ancestry.
Someone else here will know the details better than I do, but as I remember it one of the English kings that a lot of Americans are descended from was descended from Muhammed.

Considering two of the products he was subsisting on were canned ham and vienna sausages (which I'm sure also contain a hefty quality of a pork like substance), I think he's slipped in his Muslim faith a bit.
To: TexKat
So, he WAS a descendant before the wise old Islamist union figured out we really could kick his *ss. Now they decide he's not. Funny. Oh well, leave it to a union to be so lacking in ethics.

Saddam being captured alive is yielding the same benefits as NOT convicting the IMPEACHED ex-42.
Neither of they can enjoy martyr status.
