I'm serious. My daughter told me that she heard Cleese tell this story. Hard to tell when he's serious, though.

Bouzouki players will not be amongst his supporters. He can expect the support of the dance community, however since he delights in all manifestations of the Terpsichorean Muse.

I'd vote for him as Minister of Silly Walks. Mayor is a bit much.

Santa Barabara was very conservative when I lived there. Lots of millionaires and real estate tycoons.

Now that you mention it, was it Santa Barbara where Clint Eastwood used to be mayor, or do I have my towns mixed up?

"Last April, Cleese met with a group of eminent social scientists and economists ," Ceci said. At the meeting, the researchers discussed their work with Cleese. "The uniform reaction afterwards was that [the researchers] felt as if they were dealing with a colleague rather than an entertainer. He's an extremely intelligent man and it comes through when he asks questions about research."

Uh-oh.

Joe Thomas, associate dean of academic affairs, evinced similar sentiments. "He is humorous, of course, but he is also highly intelligent and an astute observer of the world in which we live," Thomas said.

Okey-dokey.
