Hillary has already done the math and determined that after the Dean/Democrat implosion there will not be a viable national party for years. Until and well beyond Nov 04, Bush and the national Pubbies will receive only growing positive news from Iraq/Mideast. Saddam's historical trial coverage worldwide will alone, drown out anything the foolish candidate Dean will say. Baker's trip overseas is sealing the fate of our reborn allies. Bush, the consummate poker player, holds a pat hand permitting Baker to negotiate with the French and Germans just how much they are going to lose in the game. Brokaw, Rather, and Jennings have already dramatically modified their reportage. Come November 04 we should expect a Republican juggernaut. Republicans have controlled Washington purse strings nigh 10 years now. K street expects it to continue and so does Hillary. Jumping ship is her only chance to remain in the limelight. The only remaining question in my mind is how much is she worth to Carl Rove?

Correct...but if the party is in tatters, she steps in the day after election day, takes control,, and assuems the mantle of candidate..and deflects all challengers...Hillary doesn't want to go the primary route...she wants to be annointed...she becomes the putative 08 candidate the day after the 04 election, and with the DNC under control, all the resources go to the 08 WH campaign..remember Dean's folks will take control of the party in the spring....to boot them out immediately wil rerquire a massive purge...which can only happen if dean suffers a huge defeat...
