This is the Coast Guard Auxiliary Boat we do Helo Ops on in Coos Bay.
NOTE : It is very seldom this calm on the water.

This is the Coast Guard 47' Boat on Helo Ops in Coos Bay.
I have been on the 47' boat numerous times during helo ops, day and night.
This is the Coast Guard 23' Safe Boat on Helo Ops in Coos Bay.
NOTE : I have been on this boat several times but not during Helo Ops

That looks like fun Tonk. Do they have any fishing gear on those boats?
What do they do on the helo op?. Is it rescue type things like lowering a litter.

Hey Tonk - what kind of bird is that? (Hubby is a helo pilot -- almost. Has the hours, just hasn't taken the test.)
Madame Stinky Pants has awakened -- gotta go get her. I'll hopefully be back later on. Hubby's out of town til late tonight, so I'll go online when I get kids down for the night! HUGS all!

Is that where all you Alabama fans hang out at? StrangeCosmos. No wonder you are mean to me. They are warping your brain over there. And I saw you hanging out at DU too. We need to step into the closet for some wall to wall counseling. You need to get your mind right. What we have here is a failure to communicate.

"What do they do on the helo op?. Is it rescue type things like lowering a litter."
Practice, practice, practice.
Lowering the litter.
Sometimes lowering the rescue swimmer.
All so that when the real thing happens it can be done with no injuries, etc.
No fishing gear on regular Coast Guard boats.
Some on the Auxiliary boat.
To: MeeknMing
LOL! I realized as I pushed the button that this hopticopter picture was awfully close to the shark one.

That's where I'm going right the Auxilary.
I've seen some of the Coasties in action and they are pretty amazing. They risk their lives every day and nobody knows about it. Talk about unsung heroes.
