Ozymandius by Percy Bysshe Shelley
"I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said--"Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desart . . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Ozymandius, King of Kings,
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away."

Another bunch of keepers [the photos].
Great to see our heroes taking care of business. As John Scott, FoxNews, said when first reporting the capture: They [the troops] were fully professional.
They make us VERY proud!

Col. James Hickey, 43, also said Special Forces soldiers were seconds from pitching a hand grenade into Saddam's tiny underground refuge when the fugitive dictator's hands appeared above ground in surrender.
Col. Hickey you've just caught that demon Saddam, is there anything you'd like to say?
"Yeah, Tell UBL he's next!!!"

Vanitas Vanitatum
ALL the flowers of the spring
Meet to perfume our burying;
These have but their growing prime,
And man does flourish but his time:
Survey our progress from our birth
We are set, we grow, we turn to earth.
Courts adieu, and all delights,
All bewitching appetites!
Sweetest breath and clearest eye
Like perfumes go out and die;
And consequently this is done
As shadows wait upon the sun.
Vain the ambition of kings
Who seek by trophies and dead things
To leave a living name behind,
And weave but nets to catch the wind.

Your threads have done a spectacular job of documenting Saddam's capture, the place where he was captured and the faces of our heroes.
Thank you.

Looks like Old $oddomite could have used some help from Martha Stewart to fix up his quarters!

A far cry from his palaces, huh? Part of me is happy that he got to live on the run in such conditions for a couple of months only to surrender like a coward. And God Bless our troops. Priceless photos Dio. Thank you...

I love the Army's sense of humor. Upon hearing the name of the operations, some of you may have thought of the cheesy (but entertaining) Patrick Swayze movie from the eighties called "Red Dawn." If you recall, the high schoolers fighting the Russkies in that movie called themselves the Wolverines. Notice the names of the two search parties in the aerial view of the farmstead - Wolverine 1 and Wolverine 2.

These are great pics. I love the ones of the soldiers. Can you imagine getting to come home and say "I captured Saddam Hussein"?
