The President today announced his next choice for Housing and Urban Development Secretary, Alphonso Jackson in the Roosevelt Room in the White House. Mr. Jackson is replacing Mel Martinez who resigned last week. Laura spent the morning at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, where she read to sick children, and watched the premiere showing of “BarneyCam II: Barney Reloaded” with them. Some goodies tonight, so enjoy your Daily Dose of Dubya!!

First of all, THANKS for the pictures! They're great!

Fashion comments: That one of the pres in the blue shirt, red tie, and dark blue jacket gives me the shivers--the GOOD kind of shivers. Also--regular buttons today, no fancy cufflinks.

Laura's sweater is soooo cute! And her dress is absolutely beautiful! And no bow! :-) I think they're getting a little lower cut and further to the shoulders--very flattering.

Next, I MISSED Barney Cam!!! Prayer group, so it was a good reason to miss, but I FORGOT to set my VCR! AND I can't get it to download on my computer from the WH website. DAMN! I suppose it's really busy with everyone watching . . .

I just love the press release, about how sequels are tricky, guest spots, a deeper plot, etc. They take the serious things seriously, but can be lighthearted too. Good for our country.

OK what else did I want to spout off about? Probably the dims, or Hellary . . . oh well I'm sure it will come to me later. Maybe a Barney shot will be at the end of Brit Hume tonight.

FOX news reports in a poll today, in New Hampshire,
Bush, 57%, Dean 31%.
Bush 51%, unnamed democrat 34% (someone without a name beats Dean---teeeheeeee)

*not sure if the figures are EXACTLY right, but they're close, and encouraging!

Oh yeah, the stock market hit and I think closed above 10,000 and next year is supposed to be the best financial year in 20 years!

Take that you dems, named and unnamed!

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! I can't get to the Barney Cam on the Whitehouse site. Their link only goes to an ad for a search engine for zillions of other things. Plug in brought up hundreds of sites.

I emailed the site, but they say they don't respond or forward messages, just read them.

I saw the video on the White House site without any problems. I just went back and looked at the site again, and there are a couple of different ways to get to the video link. Maybe try getting to it different ways and using search on the WH site may help.

Red and yellow, black and white, young and old . . . they're ALL precious in their (Pres. and Laura's) sight--they see everyone NOT as someone to help (or not help) them politically, but as a PERSON, someone to love and value.
