Call the WHite HOuse to Thank Bush for CFR!!!
Posted on 12/10/2003 1:09:18 PM PST by Maceman
For what good it will do, I just called the White House switchboard (202-456-1111) and conveyed my extreme outrage at Bush for not vetoing CFR when he had the chance.
I hope you all will do the same.
BTW, the operator told me "you are not alone."
Let's shut down the WH switchboard with howls of protest.
If I wasn't still even more terrified of the Democrats than I am of the Republicans (albeit barely at this point), I would never support Bush in '04 after this.

How many conservative justices will a democrat president appoint (nominate) to the Supreme Court? How many justices were nominated and placed under Republican administrations? Seven. How many justices voted against CFR? Four. So how many justices voted to keep this law that were nominated by Republican Presidents? Three.

This is 2003 and you can lump all the fringe party's up in one big dung heap and you might get 2% of the vote, KEEP DREAMING,
Being a brand spanking new member of the Constition Party.. Don't you have some campaigning to do or something, cause your arguments aren't getting any converts around here

"Had he vetoed it, he'd have been roasted in the press and every news item about fundraising in '04 would begin "Bush, who vetoed CFR..."
I agree. However, he could have explained to the AMerican people that he valued freedom of speech, etc.
That being said, I will do nothing to help elect Dean or Hillary. I will, however, make my views known to the White House and participate in efforts to have this law repealed.

And Alberto Gonzalez on the Texas Supreme Court ruled that the Texas abortion parental notification law was unconstitutional. It was, based on the Texas constitution.
Gonzales ruled according to the law, not on what he would LIKE the law to be.
That's the essence of conservatism.

Nope, I thought it was a good bet that parts of CFR would be shot down, so I'm not gonna press my luck right now :-)

Yeah, 3rd parties never amount to anything. That's why the worthless Republican party died a quick death in 1852 and was never heard of again... I believe the Whig Party was also collapsing at the time, and the GOP soon thereafter became a "second" party that took its place. There have been many more instances where a third party has failed rather than succeeded (Populist, Progressive, Bull-Moose, Reform). Face it, for a new party to make an impact, one of the other two has to go.

You didn't substantiate your claim that Gonzales is a liberal, and you made the original assertion.
I know a hell of a lot more about Alberto Gonzales than you do; I just thought I'd let you string yourself out.
