Funny the school district has never heard of the first amendment. God love this wonderful woman with her upbeat attitude. She may be right that this is happening to her for a (positive) reason.

"Wow! I thought this was America?"
yeh, so did I :-(
"After that I couldn't get the most basic accepted support, like needed room supplies, memos to meetings, campus police help when any of my kids needed to be removed for violence or assistance for students hurting themselves regularly."
Liberals are such scum- all this because the teacher voiced her opinion about the Terri Schiavo case- And she herself had an experience with being labeled in a PVS-wich makes her opinion relevant. I bet she's a fine teacher too but
----The Left says:
Vee vill NOT tolerate any opinion dat goze againzst THE PARTY. Vee have vays of dealing with doze who go againzst THE PARTY You vill obey THE PARTY or else...... Zeik Heil
HITLER WAS A LEFTIST Also
HITLER LOVED EUTHANASIA
It is unbelievable what is happening in America today. If you would have told me 20 years ago that in the year 2003 a disabled woman would be ordered starved to death by a judge, and you said that a teacher would be fired for expressing her opinion about it, and you told me about the attacks on Christianity that will take place, that crosses by the sides of the road and other places would be ordered removed by the courts, that a state Supreme Court Justice will be fired for merely displaying the Ten Commandments in the court house, and you further said that Christmas will be banned in the schools and that even wearing a cross necklace to school would get a student suspended, and that displaying a Nativity scene on public property at Christmas time would be called "a crime"- and you said the words "under God" might be removed from the Pledge of Allegiance..........
Well, I would have told you you were crazy.
Better WAKE UP AMERICA!

Cooper-Dowda is a lunatic. Her "vegetative state" story is filled with BS. The people here need to research this nut case. Good for the school board in rooting out a harmful influence on students.

pinellas county florida has to be in the top rankings of the most corrupt, power-abusing counties in America (and one of the most populous). It is also the world headquarters of the church of scientology. I have my own ideas about the nature of any connection there might be.

'Teachers aren't allowed to have opinions...' I'd like to see that in writing. Perhaps it's in the probationary employees handbook? Or is it in Mao's Red Book?

**That nurse put ink on the incapacitated woman's fingertip. Cooper-Dowda was then able to write the letter "y" for the word "yes," and "n" for "no," proving that the doctors had been wrong about her condition.**
Wow, what a story!

**Cooper-Dowda hopes the public and media focus will quickly shift from her story to Terri's plight, but she acknowledges that the altercation with Pinellas County school officials has changed her life forever.**
I hope someone picks up the flag for her and runs with it in a lawsuit for wrongful dismissal. This should not have happened to this lady.
Whatever happened to freedom of speech?

**"I'm going to be so sad. I've wanted to be a public school teacher since I was five and I finally got in, in August. It took me 43 years to get here," Cooper-Dowda said. "I probably will not teach again."**
Yes, she is teaching us right now! God has great plans for her!

Probably so. She and all decent people need to get out of Pinellas County, the sooner the better.
