The best Jewish holiday song is "Light One Candle" by Peter, Paul, and Mary.

Peter Paul & Mary are outright commies. The fact that people like them are the voice of Jewish culture is one reason why I've been looking for my foreskin so I can stitch it back on.

LOL! That might help. Here's part of one I sing as a pick-me-up:

(Tune: "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen")

The restroom door said "Gentleman"
And so I walked inside,
I took two steps and realized
I'd been taken for a ride,
I heard high voices, turned
and found the place was occupied,
By two nuns, three old ladies and a nurse,
What could be worse
Than two nuns, three old ladies and a nurse...

:)

That's too cute!!

Here's the rest of the song...
The first day after Christmas my true love and I had a fight
And so I chopped the pear tree down and burned it just for spite
Then with a single cartridge, I shot that blasted partridge
My true love, my true love, my true love gave to me

The second day after Christmas, I pulled on the old rubber gloves
And very gently wrung the necks of both the turtle doves
My true love, my true love, my true love gave to me

The third day after Christmas, my mother caught the croup;
I had to use the three French hens to make some chicken soup
The four calling birds were a big mistake, for their language was obscene.
The five gold rings were completely fake and they turned my fingers green

The sixth day after Christmas, the six laying geese wouldn't lay,
I gave the whole darn gaggle to the A.S.P.C.A.
On the seventh day what a mess I found
All seven of the swimming swans had drowned
My true love, my true love, my true love gave to me

The eighth day after Christmas, before they could suspect,
I bundled up the eight maids a milking, nine pipers piping
Ten ladies dancing, 'leven lords a leaping,
Twelve drummers drumming and sent them back collect
I wrote my true love, "We are through, love",
and I said in so many words,

"Furthermore your Christmas gifts were for the birds!"

Merry, Merry!!!

LOL!! Too good! Here's the rest of mine:

(Tune: "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen")

The restroom door said "Gentleman"
And so I walked inside,
I took two steps and realized
I'd been taken for a ride,
I heard high voices, turned
and found the place was occupied,
By two nuns, three old ladies and a nurse,
What could be worse
Than two old nuns, three old ladies and a nurse...

The restroom door said "gentlemen"
It must have been a gag,
As soon as I walked in there
I saw an old hag,
She sprayed me with a can of mace
And slapped me with her bag,
I could tell this just wouldn't be my day,
What can I say?
This just wasn't turning out to be my day...

The restroom door said "gentlemen"
And I would like to find,
That crummy little creep
Who had the nerve to switch the sign,
'Cause I have two black eyes
And one big bruise on my behind,
So I can't sit with comfort and joy
Boy, oh boy,
No, I'll never sit with comfort and joy.

While radio execs say public demand has fueled the merry music marathon,...

Radio execs have no clue. Commercial radio sucks *ss. Same crap over and over and over and over and over......

The tune turnover is fairly recent — only two years ago it was unorthodox for DJs to start spinning all-day holiday music more than a couple days before Christmas. But hundreds of stations are going all-jingle now because it brings in the green and gives them the gift of higher ratings.

It should really be good for the sales of CDs and CD players. Also books and even television.

>>you gotta be kidding. GGROBAR with an irish accent? I'm scared. very scared

It's not as pronounced an Irish brogue as you'd think but you do hear it a bit.

>>Paul McCartney's only Christmas song that I know of is "Wonderful Christmastime"

The Beatles recorded "Christmas Time Is Here Again" as a fan club record and it later came out on one of their Anthology albums. Ringo did a Christmas album recently; as for George, I can't remember if he did a Christmas song but his hit "Ding Dong, Ding Dong" is sometimes played
around New Years' ("Ring out the old, ring in the new...")

Some of the worst Christmas albums EVER (IMHO, of course):
Those by Gladys Knight & the Pips
ANYTHING by Kenny G.
Others?

I'd take Kenny G over Mariah Carey's christmas renditions, or any of those various "ROCK" stars Christmas albums. Straight to the trash after one listen-that's a happy holiday!

I still like the old fashioned versions, including Burl Ives and Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Andy Williams etc.....

My two favorites were always "Santa and his old lady" by Cheech and Chong, and "The 12 Days of Christmas" by Bob and Doug MacKenzie.

I remember one year all they seem to play was the Little Drummer Boy. Drove me crazy. I still can't stand to listen to the song to this day.

Harrison came out with some pretty good stuff in his time, but I usually try to forget about that one.
