The shots attributed to Oswald were impossible to make. O'Rourke learned to shoot as a boy and trained as a military marksman. He said his visits to Oswald's perch at the Texas Book Depository have convinced him that no one could have fired a rifle three times so quickly, hitting the president and Texas Gov. John Connolly.

In "Mortal Error" (Menninger) an NRA instructor/sharpshooter/ballistics expert not only repeated, but bettered the performance attributed to Oswald. The subsequent forensic analysis is also quite interesting. The shooter was hired to write a report backing up the Warren commission, but insisted on making an independent study rather than say 'because I could do it then Oswald must have done it'. He puts the 'magic bullet' theory to bed, and concludes, convincingly, that although there may have been only 1 assassin, more than 1 gun was fired. A must read for conspiracy buffs and ballistics/forensics geeks alike.

I'm old enough to remember the JFK assassination. I've heard, or read, every BS Oswald "wasn't alone" theory to come down the "pike" since then ... even visited the Book Depository in Dallas a few years ago. Speaking as a former Marine, who qualified "Expert" with the M-14 twice in a three year active enlistment, I saw nothing unusual about the shot Oswald took from the Book Depository window ... he got off three rounds in quick succession ... no big deal. Oswald was a reprehensible dirt bag of a human, no question ... he, as JFK's assassin, got lucky that day in Dallas ... call it destiny, whatever ... but he acted alone.

The one thing that never made much sense to me was Ruby killing Oswald.

It never made sense to me that a strip club owner would have been morally outraged enough to shoot Oswald out of some idealized sense of patriotism.

If I knew nothing about the Kennedy assassination, I would still never believe in a million years that a 24-year-old ants-in-his-pants "activist" who clearly did not want to get caught, aimed and fired a bolt-action rifle at the President of the United States not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES, shooting even after he had ALREADY HIT his target.
It didn't happen.

Untrue. The Dictabelt recording made from the poice motorcycle that had an open microphone counted three shots, not four. This was confirmed after the 1978 investigation by audio experts from the National Academy of Sciences after a private citizen from Ohio brought to the investigation evidence that the Dictabelt recording captures a moment after the assassination where the 'fourth shot' is allegedly heard.

Oswald was perfectly capable of making those three shots, because he did so.

Any 'help' Oswald had came from Ruthie Paine, a kindly Quaker lady who felt sorry for Marina Oswald and helped to get her loser Commie husband a job at the Texas School Book Depository.
