I don't read the National Enquirer. My memory is sketchy on the e-mails, but I seem to remember that the e-mails were purportedly from Rush to the maid. Is it possible for someone with access to Rush's computer (i.e., the maid) to send e-mails from his computer without his knowledge? Of course it is.
I'm just surprised that conservatives seem so eager to convict the man and send him up the river based on gossip.
It's possible that the maid's version of events is dead-on accurate. It's also possible that every word that she has spoken has been a lie.
The truth most likely lies somewhere in between. I would expect smart, reasonable people to wait for that truth to be established.

He has yet to state he was taking them for fun.He did say that he took them because he liked they way they made him feel. He said that on his first day back on the air. I don't remember his exact words, but he did admit that, and I think that it shows him to be honest. He did not have to admit that.
I'm keeping an open mind on the rest of the accusations.

it is also probable that every piece of "evidence" obtained by the maid is inadmissible. From the alleged scatchy tapes (inadmissbile under florida law), to the undreliable emails.
(s) then again, the maid has the CIGAR BOX OF DOOOOOOOOOM!!!(/S)

Palm Beach? The same Palm Beach that put the duh in Floriduh? Why do I smell a Rat? The Rats always abuse and selectively enforce laws all the time for their own purposes.

Why do you keep saying "impeachment"? Did Limbaugh's lawyer(s) subpoena the records in order to catch a public official in a personal vendetta Impeachment has a legal meaning that has nothing to do with Clinton or the impeachment process as it is laid out in the Constitution. Basically, it means to prove that what someone is saying is false. To disprove. You aim to impeach someone's testimony.

just FYI some inadmissible evidence can be introduced as impeachment evidence to contradict witness testimony.

HIPPA rules just say that under many circumstances you can't get your own medical records (for example if you are suing your doctor or hospital). There are many wide open exceptions in the HIPPA regs that allow police, prosecutors and "public health" officials unlimited access to your medical records without even the need for warrant or other court authorization.
The HIPPA "privacy" protection is a total joke.

I'm just surprised that conservatives seem so eager to convict the man and send him up the river based on gossipRush has told us many times to stay away from conspirarcy theories. He even has a lovely name for people who can explain away any facts by conspiracies; he calles them "conspiracy kooks."
Is it possible for someone with access to Rush's computer (i.e., the maid) to send e-mails from his computer without his knowledge? Of course it is.
It is also possible that green men live on Mars.

Conspiracy theory? The maid and the maid?
Number one: It's not a theory; it's a possibility. If a person has access to another person's computer and that person makes accusations and backs them up with e-mails sent from the computer that she and the accused have access to, what has she proven? That someone with access to the computer (including herself) sent emails from that computer.
Number two: I can't believe I have to repeat this. Wait for the facts. It's very simple. Facts, not supposition.

Would that be because never, ever has any conservative done such a thing to anyone, especially on this website?

OK, I admit it, counselor. I made it all up, so I could see Rush impaled! It is true that I have not been in his crowd. I don't like downers, or speed! Nor do I know his gardener, or his maid.
You are very convincing with your legalism's. So were the Pharisees!
"This only proves you either know no one in that income bracket ..."
This only proves your prejudice, and your apparent disregard for the Law. Not unusual for a lawyer! You tell me I am making assumptions, and then make an assumption... Apparently you hang around with lots of folks who choose to conduct their affairs with cash. I mostly hang with folks in the Land development business (my main source of income), and they don't need to show me their safes. I just spend enough time with them, to know their habits. Amex, VISA. and MC make a good living off them! They pay for their cars and planes with checks, and bank transfers. Land deals are usually financed, and repaid as the land sells. the profits are usually re-invested.
We all carry pocket cash, but I can't think of too many legal places where anyone would need $9900, IN CASH, on a continuing, frequent basis! But then, I am just assuming.
Yep, I assume many things. I think he went to rehab, because he got caught. Roy will surely get him some slack, but his deeds do appear less than kosher, and that is probably why they are after him. I assume those seeking to justify anything he did, as Ok (or to be overlooked), because he is RUSH, are not thinking with their heads, just their hearts.
As a further point, to refute someone's post, he should be held to higher standard. He is a standard bearer!
How do YOU spell hypocrite?

Wait for the facts. It's very simple. Facts, not supposition. We are waiting for the facts, but in the meantime, people go to bulletin boards and post comments. Nobody is forcing you to read other people's comments.
Rush Limbaugh has not denied the main facts of his maid's story. All his carefully-worded statements only address peripheral issues or use the convoluted grammar constructions, such as, "He was never a target of a drug investigation."
Well, the DA got search warrants for his medical records, so maybe Rush was not a target in 1960 but he is a target now.

FreeRepublic would last about 48 hours and then completely shut down from lack of interest if this was the operating standard in all cases.

You have your people, I have mine.
The are pleanty of very personal reasons to keep cash on hand. Especially when a few 100000 here and there is not all that much.
To: alnick
It's also possible that every word that she has spoken has been a lie. And I would say it's highly likely that she was trying to blackmail him. He hinted at that likelihood on the air the other day, and I believe him because he said all the facts will come out as soon as he can state them publically.
