OK, I admit it, counselor. I made it all up, so I could see Rush impaled! It is true that I have not been in his crowd. I don't like downers, or speed! Nor do I know his gardener, or his maid.
You are very convincing with your legalism's. So were the Pharisees!
"This only proves you either know no one in that income bracket ..."
This only proves your prejudice, and your apparent disregard for the Law. Not unusual for a lawyer! You tell me I am making assumptions, and then make an assumption... Apparently you hang around with lots of folks who choose to conduct their affairs with cash. I mostly hang with folks in the Land development business (my main source of income), and they don't need to show me their safes. I just spend enough time with them, to know their habits. Amex, VISA. and MC make a good living off them! They pay for their cars and planes with checks, and bank transfers. Land deals are usually financed, and repaid as the land sells. the profits are usually re-invested.
We all carry pocket cash, but I can't think of too many legal places where anyone would need $9900, IN CASH, on a continuing, frequent basis! But then, I am just assuming.
Yep, I assume many things. I think he went to rehab, because he got caught. Roy will surely get him some slack, but his deeds do appear less than kosher, and that is probably why they are after him. I assume those seeking to justify anything he did, as Ok (or to be overlooked), because he is RUSH, are not thinking with their heads, just their hearts.
As a further point, to refute someone's post, he should be held to higher standard. He is a standard bearer!
How do YOU spell hypocrite?

You have your people, I have mine.
The are pleanty of very personal reasons to keep cash on hand. Especially when a few 100000 here and there is not all that much.
