I think John Robinson recently updated the FR software and made an adjustment to the New Posts to You area. It now becomes "emboldened" only when there are actually new posts TO you. It used to go bold when YOU posted a comment TO someone else. I like the change. You'll get used to it and perhaps even grow to like it as well. :o)

Nice pictures, graphics and spooky webcam thingy, chance. I saved your Rush Ping List and Prayer Ping List graphics on my website until you make your move. I saved them as .jpg files instead of .bmp files so the file size is reduced to a tenth of what it was. Rush threads will load much faster that way.
ConservativeMan55, feel free to right click on the Rush Ping List graphic and copy the URL. Use it to your heart's delight or until chance puts it back on his homepage. :o)

It has been reported (Rush has confirmed this) that Rush took massive quantities of drugs, obtained from illegal sources. Has Rush confirmed this? I know that he has confirmed that he is addicted to painkillers.
I haven't heard Rush say anything about the quantity taken or his sources. He did say that he got to a point where he took the drugs for the high.
Are you confusing what the maid and the National Enquirer and people who make speculative posts to message boards as fact said with what Rush has said?

Under the PATRIOT Act medical and educational records are no longer private. Sorry. Also the govt can read and use your e-mail whenever it wants to thanks to the PATRIOT Act

Withdrawing $9,990 in cash from a bank is suspicious because it is $10 below 10K. Anything 10K and above must be reported to the Feds. It seems that Rush was trying to evade this law by withdrawing only $9,990. That is why this is so suspicious. Rush'd actions seem like a way to evade getting noticed that he is using the money for something illegal.
Had this been someone named "Muhammad" doing this, you will probably have a different take on this. But since it is Rush, it is OK.

LOL that's a laugh, avoiding the reporting limit is no more illegal than avoiding the speed limit. Good point.

When it is done 20 times as one of you reported, then avoiding the 10K limit becomes suspicious. The Feds have reason to believe that Rush was using the money to buy prescription drugs illegally. If they can prove that, then Rush is in real trouble. Not only is he violating the PATRIOT Act, he is buying prescription drugs illegally.
Personally, I think ALL drugs should be legal. As a Libertarian, I believe drug usage is a personal choice.

"He has stated that he was asked by the bank to do it that way;.....I remember waaaay! back when the $10,000 law came into being. Our banks told us about it at that time and suggested if we didn't want our transactions reported to not deposit or withdraw $10,000 or over.
Of course I would never have that problem.

It seems that his own doctors would have given him the prescriptions if he needed them. Good point. American doctors are good; they give you painkillers and tranquilizers even when you don't really need them. You'd have more luck getting blood from a stone than you would in getting Valium off an NHS doctor in the UK. (I oughta know.)

"It has been reported (Rush has confirmed this) that Rush took massive quantities of drugs, obtained from illegal sources."
"Has Rush confirmed this? I know that he has confirmed that he is addicted to painkillers. "
I did confuse the issue in making the point, but don't back off from my claim.
Are you saying that what he did is OK with you, and we should overlook his RECREATIONAL DRUG USE, because WE like him?
There are heaps of folks here who have smoked hemp. I am one of them. I was in the USNavy (1966-68, 4 WesPac cruises), when I began using it. I enjoyed the way I felt, and 'the high' relieved some of the stresses of being away from home, in a battle zone. I used it recreationally.
While acknowledging that Rush is A GREAT ENTERTAINER, and that he led the way for others to gain fame, I cannot roll over, and let him get by.
He has advocated for the Right so ,much, that it seems many herein are perfectly willing to give him a pass.
My points are:
1. Rush obtained, and admitted using, massive amounts of 'pain killers'. He says it was his "addiction" that is resposible, then says it was him, responsible (sounds just what he is saying about Kerry, and NO, I CAN'T STAND KERRY!)
2. Rush obtained large amounts of cash, and avoided the required reports to the g'umt. (I do not agree with the law, but his bank paid a fine for their ADMITTED wrongdoing). Rush claims the "bank told him to do it". Just because he is wealthy, does not necessitate avoiding using a record of his transactions. Who, in their legal operations, and dealings, needs to pass large amounts of CASH? Most folks need a record, for their own use, and checks, credit cards, and bank transfers effect most of the needs of normal commerce.
3. There were reports, from various sources (yes, the Enquirer, et al) that Rush obtained the drugs illegally. The fact that multiple doctors records are being checked, is an indication that he may have gotten multiple prescriptions, to satisfy his needs.
4. Rush has made various statements concerning drug use in the past. In the recent past, he has been less vocal, but still uses references to ...pot-smoking...maggots, etc. in reference to leftists, and anarchists, casting aspersions on the Hemp operations, in CA, etc.. These actions unfairly label me as being something I am not, by inference. I would assume it applies to many of the other anti-WODer's on this site.
5. IMO, the WOD is ridiculous, and so I also feel any prosecution of Rush is also ridiculous. But, the actions he took, as they appear, are probably against the law. Roy Black will earn his fee!

(Rush didn't know??? But now, we all know! He probably broke the law! {Unless you're in de Nile!})
To: pageonetoo
For all those ready to send Rush to the slammer because he broke the law, let me ask you this.
1) Name one other case is this country (not just Palm Beach, FL) where medical records of an individual have been seized over illegal drug use (and just illegal drug use)
2) Name one other case in this country where prosecutors have gone after an illegal drug user that just successfully (and I'll admit we have to take Rush's word on it that it was successful) went through drug treatment?
There's no question that he broke the law. But look at it in context. Just because I used to speed and admit I used to speed doesn't mean the police should investigate me for it and tap my phone lines to try and get evidence that I sped. This is nothing more than a fishing expedition.

It's on my Profile page now too, if that makes it any easier for you.
By the way, will you please add me to your Rush Ping List? :o)

In fact, what these records show is that Mr. Limbaugh suffered extreme pain and had legitimate reasons for taking pain medication. Unfortunately, SCOTUS has already ruled that out as a valid defense.

Your position violates just about every conservative principle there is. "There's no question that he broke the law. But....."
Those who blindly defend Rush's illegal use of prescription drugs should just switch their party registration to Democrat right now, since that is the party where there is no "right" and "wrong," only moral relativism. Instead of, "It's only about sex," the Rushbots are saying, "It's only about drugs." Very sad.
