JR is tweaking the system. At first they were getting small, so I think he gave them Viagara! Now they really stand out!

Let us make our position clear: Rush Limbaugh is not part of a drug ring. He was never a target of a drug investigation. This seems a bit odd, perhaps it's frontrunning an investigation and possible charge of being associated with a drug ring???
To: ItsTheMediaStupid
Unless of course it can be proven that the customer was doing this as part of a money laundering scheme. Rush was aware of the 10K limit. He made withdrawls just under the limit to avoid the reporting. That is money laundering by definition.
To: longtermmemmory
This is just so strange. I thought with the new even stricter medical privacy laws that something like this would be even less possible. They are really out to get this man, and I think we all know why.

They may argue it was being discovered for potential impeachment evidence. Stupid layman question time: Why do you keep saying "impeachment"? Did Limbaugh's lawyer(s) subpoena the records in order to catch a public official in a personal vendetta?

On my screen the names have remained bold, but are in a larger font than the body of the post. Something weird's going on.JohnRob must be fiddling with the software again; that's the only possible explanation. I do hope this is temporary though, because the changes look ... less elegant somehow. Cheaper. Sort of like the software did a long time ago when you go back and look at threads from three years ago.

Yeah, JohnRob's definitely doing more software upgrades. I just looked in the corner of my screen and noticed the FR pager once again lists seconds, not just hours and minutes. Yay!

It was only oral sex, and, besides, he was lonely sounds a lot like it was only prescription drugs, and besides, he was in pain.
No it doesn't sound the same at all. I don't see how a amoral, illegal act can be the same as a moral and legal act. Now buying drugs from his maid, or duping the docs in giving him larger prescription's, well then that is a differant matter.

I thought with the new even stricter medical privacy laws that something like this would be even less possibleYou thought wrong.
The new medical "privacy" laws greatly restrict access to your information on the part of doctors and nurses (who probably are trying to help you).
For insurance companies and the government, your records are now an open book.

Rush was aware of the 10K limit. He made withdrawls just under the limit to avoid the reporting. That is money laundering by definition.
He has stated that he was asked by the bank to do it that way; he said he told investigators that story, and his information is that there were multiple customers of this bank that were given the same request.
People listen up, here! I'm getting pretty tired of hearing about Rush and "money laundering." HE WAS MAKING WITHDRAWALS OF HIS OWN MONEY FROM A BANK. Money laundering is what crooks do to "legitimize" their ill-gotten profits on illegal merchandise SOLD to another party. Has ANYBODY heard ANYTHING about Rush selling contraband? No. And thus he had no money requiring laundering!!!
Besides that, he's worth millions and the monies involved were a total of about $300K. Does that make sense if he's "laundering" money???

Addicts learn how to shop the system....they may be dealing with perfectly ethical docs, but they may also have half a dozen of them on the line, each prescribing the same thing, and none of them knowing that the other is involved. That's one of the inherent problems with patient privacy taken to the extreme.....docs can't communicate with one another without the patient's permission. So, sometimes the medical system unwittingly becomes a supplier for addicts. Militant

"They are really out to get this man, and I think we all know why."
Do you think that's because he may have possibly broken some laws? It certainly appears that there are way too many apoplgists for this man. He is not the second coming, but HE IS A GOOD ENTERTAINER!
I've been a Dittohead, since 1987... Freeper since I got here!

FL is a republican legilature and executive state, the courts will get there if more conservatives graduate law school.
Palm beach is a great county because you can buy land and build a decent house without an infernal homeowners association.
Also fl has a state constitutional provision prohibiting a state income tax, homestead protection taking the first $25,000 off the tax role (an additional $25,000 added to that if you are a senior citizen), homestead protection keeping your home from being forclosed for mere judgements, and NO SNOW!

Just an fyi - the graphics on my page will be gone soon so download them :) I moved and don't have internet access until mid december and am changing ISP's (and I can't freepmail from work either so I wanted to drop you a note here real quick).
When I get my new isp setup completed I will be using my own web server and you can store graphics there if you want. Will keep you posted!
