Feet of clay, folks. Your conservative superman turns out to be mortal, like everybody else, and the bandwidth is full of denial. It's like watching the Friends of Bill scrambling for excuses when their idol got caught with his dingus hanging out. “It was only oral sex, and, besides, he was lonely” sounds a lot like “it was only prescription drugs, and besides, he was in pain.”

Why can't Rush’s fan club just admit that Mr. Limbaugh is a drughead? It's not like he'd be the first. Plenty of good conservatives have been drug abusers, drunkards, sots, racists, antisemites, wastrels, and even sexual perverts. (So have plenty of liberals and libertarians.) A man can have good politics and a bad character at he same time; one need not be personally impeccable in order to have correct views on life's great issues. By justifying Mr. Limbaugh’s illegal actions, his fans weaken the conservative cause in the eyes of those who think we’re all hypocrites. Let's hold our own to the same standards we hold the enemy!

I pity Mr. Limbaugh, but sticking one’s head in the sand and pretending he wasn’t popping pills like they were Good ’N’ Fruitys isn’t going to benefit him or our cause. The first rule of conservatism is to accept world as it is, not as we wish it was. Rush Limbaugh is not the conservative Lenin, and the Right does not need a conservative Cheka to zealously propagandize the masses so that The Great Leader is never cast in a bad light. It needs honest men who can admit to human weaknesses (their own, and those of the people they admire) and yet remain faithful to the ideals that we all imperfectly pusue.

Excuse me for butting in, but I can't find an answer--my posts seem to be posted, but do not appear ias "New Posts to you" in My Comments. Since you are talking abou the fonts, thought someone could help.

On Rush's drugs--to the people wondering how he could get hooked, please note he got hooked on prescription drugs. They were originally prescribed by a dr. Dr.'s have no way of knowing which patients are more susceptible to getting addicted. As someone else mentioned, after awhile, if someone keeps wanting their prescription refilled, the drs. get "antsy" and back off. They go into CYA mode. The patient is still in pain, or hooked, and eventually uses up legal avenues to the drug and goes to the street.

We can get back to the is/is not,Rush a hypocrite, can't we! He IS a great entertainer. He may have become a much-listened-to talk show host, by lying to his audience, though, and that makes him a hypocrite. But, he IS a good entertainer!!!

Roy Black is just another lawyer, and money buys good defense. I think Rush will need it!

Yes and no. The rush situation is a case over two years old and the party responsible for reporting, the bank, paid a fine.

This does not apply to regular paychecks, I asked a bank friend. This is an exceptiont to the reporting rule. Thus if you are self employed and it would fall under the exception.

Not sure about the medical records, but anti-money-laundering laws and regulations predate the Patriot Act. Banks are required to report certain types of transactions, especially those involving large amounts of cash. Also, advising a customer to make several smaller transactions to avoid the reporting requirement is a violation of the law on the banker's part.

It's only illegal if the bank fails to report it, and then it's the bank that broke the law, not the customer. Unless of course it can be proven that the customer was doing this as part of a money laundering scheme.

Records can be obtained from any medical provider given 1) specific permission by the patient for their release, or 2) a court order demanding their release. Chemical Dependency records are further protected under federal statute (42 CFR, part 2) with additional disclosure prohibitions. A specific type of court order is required in these cases. Militant
