Good news!

Just saw on the FOX news crawl that the Pentagon will shortly begin paying for the soldiers on R&R from Iraq to get ALL THE WAY HOME, not to just one of three airports in America (they were previously required to pay the airfare all the way home, prompting a HUGE outcry from other Dosers, and we MUST have made a difference!)

When Bush was first running, I met him several times at the debates. He came off very personably. Then I saw him on television and he didn't "project" and I told my husband he couldn't win because he didn't have that television "Q" factor. (Boy was I wrong).

He was very stiff in his early TV appearances, but like you I had met him personally, and I knew that his plan was to win hearts and votes one at a time. He knew that he had to go around the media.

To everyone I met, from cashiers at check-out counters to family members to strangers in libraries or hospitals (where I was spending a lol of time in 2000), I said that he would make a great president and you will like him after you get to know him.
