A fellow Freeper, justshutupandtakeit, has requested prayers for his son going into the navy, FReeper Mark Antony, on another thread.

http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1033046/posts

"I want to ask all Freepers to send their prayers up to the Most High God and ask his protection for my older son. He will be heading for boot camp at Great Lakes Naval Training Center on Monday after finishing his undergrad work in college. Arlen will be entering the Nuclear Engineering field in the Navy and will have specialized training down in Charleston, SC. "

"His late mom would be proud of him as am I for serving his country in a time of need. Two of my brothers served in the Navy and a third, now deceased, was career Air Force. "

"I know with the prayers of Freepers across our great land behind him he will do well. He occasionally posts here as Mark Antony."

Our Beloved Heavenly Father,

We are on bended knee, holding hands together from whatever location we find ourselves in, petitioning for blessings upon this young man, Arlen, who has pledged to place his life, his intellect, and his many gifts into the service of our navy and our nation in that nuclear engineering field. We thank you, Father, for this young man who is so willing to do this on our behalf.

Father, we weave together, with all the love of our hearts a very special prayer blanket for him, that we know you shall charge with all your qualities of protection, strength, courage, compassion, mercy, wisdom, and insight according to the need of the hour throughout his military service. Assign to him a special team of angels to guide and guard him during his training and his active duty.

Father, we call forth your special blessings of faith, courage, and Vision for our friend, justshutupandtakeit, and his two former navy brothers while they hold vigil for Arlen. Surround this entire family and all the families who are waiting, with peace, calm, and joy.

Father, we understand that Arlen's mother and uncle have passed into realms not directly reachable by us. We ask that you will contact them wherever they are in your universe, and let them know how proud and thankful we are for this young man. If it is at all in accordance with your Will and Law, please let them join at some level the angels who are assigned to stand with him during his military years.

Father, we do thank thee for Arlen and all our precious young people who have heard the Call to Arms and have answered. These are our greatest and best treasure. They have come forward to place themselves between their loved homes and the war's desolation. We place them upon your altar and trust that they are and shall always be in your personal care. We trust that only your Will can and shall be done in their lives, and that your Will is always perfect and good. We have the experience and trust from that science of knowing the truth, that you have never given us a stone when we have called upon you for Bread.

Our Father, we thank you for giving our Founding Fathers the Vision to create a nation founded upon Freedom. We thank you for the generations of young people who have caught that Vision and given their lives, blood, health, and time for the defending of that Vision. We are grateful for this new generation of Visionaries, this, our greatest treasure, who are so willing to pay the price for Freedom, which is truly not free. We are humble, and we are grateful. Bless them all and bring them home safe and Victorious.

Amen

Re your post 50, Ms Kathy:
"Thanks, every day, TEX, for the Prayerwarriors and the wonderful mission pursued"

You are welcome for the thread, Ms Kathy. I join you in gratitude for the tremendous Prayer Warrior legions we have here on the forum who have been participating in our vigil for the troops.

I have been somewhat AWOL in my replies lately. My apologies for the lateness, but the sentiments expressed are sincere!God bless you and all the Canteen Guyz and Girlz!
