In a demoralizing message to U.S. soldiers serving in Iraq, visiting New York Sen. Hillary Clinton told them that Americans back home are growing increasingly skeptical of President Bush's decision to send them into battle.
Describing two meetings with G.I.s over turkey dinners in Baghdad, Sen. Clinton told reporters later that soldiers wanted to know "how the people at home feel about what we are doing."
Clinton said she told the troops, "Americans are wholeheartedly proud of what you are doing but there are many questions at home about the (Bush) administration's policies."
She also suggested that the U.S. could eventually loose the war in Iraq, contending, "We have to exert all of our efforts militarily, but the outcome is not assured."
Despite her sour pronouncements, the former first lady insisted that the soldiers were just as glad to see her as they were President Bush, whose surprise visit less than 24-hours earlier was greeted with standing ovations.
"It's a positive for the commander-in-chief to visit troops in the field," Clinton told reporters, adding, "the troops [also] seemed to appreciate seeing myself."
Speaking from a secure location just over the Kuwaiti border, Mrs. Clinton launched one verbal salvo after another at the White House, arguing that Bush officials had been "obsessed" with getting Saddam Hussein and saying the perception blinded them to the difficulties of deposing his regime.
"The Pentagon tried to make do with as few troops as possible, as light a footprint as they could get away with," Clinton said. "Now, we're playing catchup . . . Unfortunately, I don't think they fully appreciated the conditions we would encounter."
The top Democrat also reprised her charge that the White House is being less than candid when it comes to apprising the American people of the costs of the war.
"The obstacles and problems here are much greater than the administration usually admits to," she said, adding, "Everybody has to be honest."

Hillary>>>
"We have to exert all of our efforts militarily, but the outcome is not assured." <<< Geezz! You'd think that Saddam's Thugs and O'sama's Martyrs were pushing us back into the Pusan Perimiter!
The outcome is assured if Hillary and her friends would just shut up. Aiding and abetting - no doubt about it!

I'll e-mail it, but I hope others do, too. Something needs to be organized that's grass roots and so big that it can't be spun or overlooked. A national porch lights on night would certainly be visible, but if anyone has a better idea, please, please suggest it. What Her Heinous did was unforgivable, and we can't let what she said go unchallenged.

Re: my post 1659 above. Hope you don't mid the ping. I thought you'd be a natural to ask. Can you think of anything the nation could do, say on a single day or night that might fit the bill?

The fundraiser is a guy, cannot recall his name, he left the country to avoid prosecution, I am surmising that he was given immunity or something for his testimony, I saw a quick clip this morning that his testimony will begin Monday.
The fundraiser admits to guilt in illegal practices both for Bill and Hillary in New York.
I do recall that when the story first came about some were voicing an opinion if he would live long enough to testify...interesting..have not heard much more just bits and pieces.

How could she do that to those kids for her own possible gain? She's EVIL, to the core.
To: Peach
The really sad thing is if she runs for President I firmly believe she will be elected. That's when I'll crawl into my hidey hole for good.

Oh, yeah. The guy who was in the Brazilian prison.

I laugh at Hillary, but not at saying in a war zone that people are questioning Bush's policies, even though they support the troops and saying that winning is not certain.

Do you really think an ad will accomplish anything? Does anyone think Hillary will be called to account for her words in a war zone? What about those two doofus Congressmen who did much the same in Afghanistan? What about Teddy The Swimmer saying this war was cooked up in Texas? What about Jay Rockefeller and Dick Durbin with their secretive and seditious Senate Intelligence Committee memo?
I'm at the point where it seems to me the only thing that will work is if we all gather with flaming torches held high on the steps of the Capitol and demand some heads roll via the ethics committees or else we'll do it for them. Can't do that, can we. America's a democratic republic. Hmmm. Okay, at least ask them to gather together and sing "God Bless America" like they did in the days following 9/11/01. Yeah. That'll make everything all better. harumph.
It's just so DARNED frustrating. I had to rant. :o)

I agree with you that we are preaching to the "choir", but that needs to be done also. The other day I popped onto MoveOn.org and could find no way to post on that RAT site! I actually believe that kind of posting is a waste of time because these sites are frequented by extreme left-wingers that not only hate Bush, but hate the USA! These folks like Hillary Clinton get their jollies when American soldiers are killed or wounded! Preaching to the choir insures that we will be kept at a "motivated" state to do all that we can to defeat this traitor/treason Democrat Party! We are at war in our country, and if the Democrats win it will eventually mean the end of America as we know it! The Democrats lead by Hillary Clinton, etc. will open the doors for the terrorists to begin open season on Americans and their families! We cannot afford to lose this Presidential election to a Democrat! There is no option! A Democrat victory will make 911 look like a church picnic!

You know, you just might be on to something .....
Maybe we can't demand that their heads roll but if 3 or 4 thousand (or 10,000 ... or whatever) show up on the Capitol steps demanding justice .... handing out flyers with the actual deeds/words of these criminals..... We might be able to get somebody's attention. The worst that could happen is nothing but maybe we can at least shut them the hell up!!
One of our local State Representatives told me that here (Indiana) 3 or 4 phone calls from constituents gets the antennas up at the state house and 10 to 12 means they have a problem on their hands (sad, isn't it).
If 10-12 people calling at the state level is a problem, 5,000 people on the Capitol steps with signs and anger for a couple of days has got to have an effect.
2 questions, is anybody up for this and if so, does anybody know how to go about organizing such a thing?
To: thesummerwind
I know I am somewhat late getting into this debate and haven't read all the responses, but Hillary was in Afganistan, not Iraq. I despise this woman just as much, if not more, as anyone, but I don't think this article got the particulars incorrect.
Flame away...

She was in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Close to treasonous? I'd say it IS treason...a member of the US Senate giving aid and comfort to the enemy? IF she didn't hate guns so much she'd be sitting behind an antiaircraft mount!
To: Remember Ruby Ridge
oops! That should say...I don't think this article got the particulars correct.
