President Bush secretly landed an hour ago and is currently eating Thanksgiving dinner at my undisclosed location. Anticipate a press release after he takes off.

Does anyone suppose that Bremer's trip to Washington a short while back may have had something to do with this?
Seems possible to me.

PuRpLe07 11-27-2003, 1:29 PM I find this very stupid. This morning my best friend and I was very excited when we heard that Hilary Duff was going to perform in The Thanksgiving Parade. As the show went along my friend and I got more and more excited, and just when Hilary Duff was going to sing, a special news report came on about the President making a surprise visit to the troops in Baghdad. As they showed him and the troops, my friend and I were furious. I don't think the news casters understood or even thought to consider how many teenagers including myself got up early to enjoy the festive parade let alone watch Hilary Duff. I was and still am very upset that they had to cut out right when she was going to perform to tell America that the President was in Baghdad...Yes that is very nice of him, but I believe it was a wrong doing of theres. Maybe they should think about other people before doing something
I went to see the discussion on the Carolina channel, th site where the video was posted, and this was the first discussion point I saw. I think we have a two-fer, a product of the public skools, and a DU'er in training.

Huh? Quite a leap of "logic". Wrong too. So far, I see your GPA as 0.00.

You are right, I am slightly excited. I have seen post after post criticizing and whining. Guess what, the President took a calculated risk going in there. The troops are shelled periodically, without needing a special reason.
Secondly, before the President even landed, there was reported increased helicopter activity in the area. Now, I don't know, but if I were a terrorist... that would have been a heads up prior to the landing. But, no, the "mighty" on FR think that a thread here, that didn't give a specific, was the "risk."
Third, because of the original thread, I was given a heads up to turn on the news a couple of hours after the thread was started and was blessed to see the initial breaking news on the regular media.
And the rude treatment that was handed out to the thread poster in the beginning, and continued by mrobison and others is uncool. It goes both ways.
Thank God we have a President that has more nerve than you.

1,400 posts later this is funny!
AP says Crawford, Texas.
CRAWFORD, Texas - This year, the traditional pecan pie on President Bush's Thanksgiving table will be made with nuts picked fresh from trees on his ranch.
Bush is celebrating Thanksgiving much like he always does, alongside family members, enjoying a traditional feast of turkey and fixings.

Or, "How do we slam Bush for doing exactly what Hitlery did when he did it in a way that showed his sincerety and her vacuousness?"And that's what's going to come back to hammer these media jerk-offs right into the ground. Not only did the President's sincerity shine through, but no proud American citizen could not be touched by the genuine outpouring of respect, and even love, those soldiers he visited today displayed.
Next to those images, the peevish sniping of people like Howard Kurtz and the rest of the mincing little metrosexuals filling up the pages and airwaves of the media looks exactly like what it is - a big group temper tantrum being thrown by a bunch of bratty, self-absorbed children.

Every time that I see that Vanity Fair picture I think, "Thank G-d that grownups are back in charge again!"

Oh let me see, you have no real reason to disagree with my assessment, so you resort to childish responses, emphasizing my assessment of you even more.

Yeah, I made the mistake of reading a few posts. Mixed in with the useful idiots were some reasonable people, but the lies and lunacy and frothing hate were unbelieveable.

Over on the "naughty thread" they were saying GWB's trip is not as "good" at the beast's because he only was in & out & she shows her true caring by spending several days. guess that will be their spin The main difference is, W has a loving extended family to spend Thanksgiving with.
She, on the other hand....
